Note to Porsche classic - 997 PCCM plus request

Annoyingly I'm pretty sure the problem is on the loom side and I don't know how to disassemble that connector so i can see the female pins and straighten or replace one.

It was a simple test - grabbed a battery-operated camera and from the AV out, connected via RCA to Fakra cable to the PCCM+. As soon as I placed to the auto selector to reverse, the screen showed what the Camera was pointing at. If installing a purpose built back up camera, they typically splice into the reverse light which enables the camera to only power when car is reversing. My plan is to install properly as the next project, ie drill a hole above the license plate, run the cable through the engine compartment into the cabin etc etc

here's a thougth.. could the reverse camera run double duty as a rear pointing dash cam?
eg , power it all the time
display on pccm when hitting reverse gear
but record on some dash cam setup??

Same Question on a Backup Camera
Has anyone configured a backup camera on the PCCM upgrade with a manual? I see some action on this with PDK or Tiptronic but manuals appear to be limited in this fashion. Any help is appreciated.

That the product uses some kind of 3rd party platform is quite irrelevant to the one buying the Porsche product. It would be Porsche who needs that Android support , as a user of the os.. The end-user, of the PCCM really has no real claim or ability to raise android support for a problem with PCCM+
The only thing this means, is there will be no OS version updates for that android build
Since it does not use any wifi, or network, so it cannot really be hacked from the internet.
only real comms it has is by BT, but none of that interacts with the canbus.. its just phone or mp3, well known protocols.
As long as the product does what it is supposed to do, as delivered by Porsche, its good.
if not, it is a problem for Porsche, not for the end user.
Another aspect of android versions, is compatibility with apps to download from the store.
Not possible in PCCM anyway
So either way, non issue if you ask me..
They might release an update of PCCM+ 997 in the future, that then flash upgrades the entire thing to a newer android.. but I kinda doubt it.
Does anyone know if PCCM+996 has ever received such a software update?

"How do I want to know, something like that?"
come again?
And why would i be kidding you: why would a lack of Android version updates on a device that is not even connected to the internet, be a problem to anyone using PCCM+ ?
