Don't understand how to read the outcome. Sold but reserve not met?
Same car, different price https://www.goodingco.com/lot/2005-p...T&pageNumber=2

Guess it sold for more after some negotiations???

Where are you seeing reserve not met? It blew through the pre-sale high estimate by $35,000.

So it's not just BaT where Turbo's have shattered the $100K ceiling

And a Cab no less

A bargain at 65K miles? hard to say. While 05 turbo s coupes are rare, mileage plays a huge part of the value.

@Carlo_Carrera Might just be my lack of understanding, but same car 2 different pricing. Either way good sell.

Porsches are not affected as much by mileage as each iteration is not a huge leap in the older cars and these are cars that you can grow with. Buy it, enjoy, wear it out and rebuild it. Look at how many high mileage early 911 and 964/993 are running around. People aren't as concerned with those (at least the people that matter). And now that these cars are getting up there in age, it's even more accepted. Much different thought process vs. something like an M car, IMO.

I think it's just a data entry problem.

What sort of timing is associated with moving through the queue? They provide estimates? I mean it is a website, I'd imagine they can calculate estimated time to live.

Yes, but to a much lessening degree as these 996 cars now age into "Classic" Porsches

Condition and provenance are historically the bread and butter of Classic 911

I just don't know exactly as of yet. I submitted 2 weeks ago and they got back to me right away and accepted the car. I paid the extra $250 for the professional photo service and the photographer never showed up. No call/No show. They finally rescheduled a week later and that was last Friday. I have not been given a date as of yet. I will post as soon as I know.

Most recently it's been 4-6 weeks from submission to live (via the standard auction where you provide the photos).

Interesting thanks, was interested in the process.

Wow, pretty long lead time considering this is an online (automated) service.

I personally thought that particular Turbo, with it's open questions, oversold.
As someone who deals in a high end collectibles market that can make Porsches look like a toy hobby, I can tell you that there is a LOT of manipulation on public auctions.

Friends bid up prices to set secret reserves, sometimes big sales don't go through and people always ignore low outliers.

Anybody spending 5, 6 or 7 figures on something should do some real reseach before spending hard earned dough.

And ultimately, the motto in my industry is not to buy for profit. If you buy something you love it doesn't matter how much it's worth.
