I agree that too much of one colour interior can be a bit overwhelming. I've seen Natural Brown, and I think that's a great pairing with various Blues, Greens, etc. Great tone, and I think it's aged slightly better. However, I think in the lighter colour interiors, contrasting darker carpeting, or coloured seat backs and center console tunnel, can really create a nice offset.

I've got a grey interior in my C2, and I've been slowly adding a bit more black and have been really liking it better and looks a lot less dated.

Not hating on Savannah specifically, just a bit too yellow for my taste.

For the reason you described, I added Coco mats to break up the natural brown in my TTS, and to save my original mats.

Original unmolested interior

SOO beautiful, one of my favorite interiors; with the deviating black carpet Natural Brown is simply incomparable

I took a fairly close look at it and took it for a drive.
.
  • Very few minor cosmetic flaws, i'd put it at a solid 9 out of 10 inside and out. (one caliper clear coat peeling, one tail light with tiny micro-cracks, on small scratch from the rear wiper I noticed.)
  • Took it for a short drive. No signs of a tune, clutch felt fine, everything tight and as it should be, great running condition. Looked like fresh motor mounts.
  • All stock that I noted, except for what looked like an aftermarket high flow air filter.
Also talked to my service guys, great dealer history with the car, likely far more extensive than what you'll see on carfax. I got the feeling they had some flexibility on price, like $60K would do it. Ping me if anyone is really interested, I can pass along a few contacts.

Obviously you got to like Orient Red Metallic! The color IMHO looks better in person than in photos.

How does one detail the underside to make it look that good?

I have always wondered about the long term effects of using dry ice for cleaning. I know it’s the latest thing, but dry ice is -109 degrees F. What does that do to metal properties and rubber seals? I recall what cold temperatures did to o-rings on the space shuttle and that was no where near these cryo temperatures. I would think rubber would become brittle and shrink with no guarantee of returning to the original shape.

Probably just the engineer in me voicing questions.

we offer the dryice service in my shop. I don't think there is any worry with rubber or any material becoming brittle if cleaned in the correct manner. Yes dry ice is -109 but it comes out and then starts dropping temperature right away. The surface does get cold, nothing crazy. You can put your hand on metal after and be fine. If someone were to take the machine and shoot at a direct spot for a long amount of time then yes maybe damage could occur, just like using a power washer pointed at plastic for too long will cause damage. Space temperatures are consistent, not the same as dry ice cleaning where we go over an area and keep moving.

Maybe it wasn't dry ice blasting but at some point that engine and transmission were pressure washed with some type of cleaner. That is not OEM condition under there.

I agree, IMO this obsession (tactic?) with extreme detailing of undersides solely for the sake of online pictures seems absurd. I much prefer to see a rust free OEM underside, where at least potential issues can be traced.

Thank you for the clarification. As in most procedures, the key is the operator needs to be trained and know what he’s doing. That makes sense the temperatures drop before reaching the metal. I’ve worked with LNG and it’s -273 degF. It only takes about 18” of tubing to drop the temperature back within design limits. I’m curious though, what is the tip pressure at the nozzle of your machine?
