The majority of that time period you're waiting to get assigned an auction writer. Once the writer is assigned it's usually less than a week to get it written, draft approved, and time slot scheduled. But yeah, they're overloaded with submissions. Generally worth the effort though as they still bring consistently higher results than competitors with shorter flows.

Understood and enjoyed everything you said. I just need some "after school help". Can you help me understand the following: "the motto in my industry is not to buy for profit"? Thanks!

I was speaking as a collector, not a dealer. If you're collecting for the love of the product, the motto is 'buy what you love' and that way, that way even if you overpay a little it's not a bad thing.
But as a dealer, you obviously need to to factor in profit. Sorry if I wasn't clear.

Hi, all. I sold my 1999 996 today, and I'm moving into a 996TT.

Old: https://rennlist.com/forums/market/1284501

New: https://www.morong-falmouth.porsched...0633888062.htm

Deposit down on the TT today, but we've got a storm incoming and I won't be able to complete the transaction until early next week. I'll post more photos when the car is in my garage.

This will be my 4th Porsche in 3 years, but the one I'm looking forward to the most. It will do double duty with my trusty 2008 Cayenne Turbo.

Very nice. I wish we could still get floor mats with the turbo script on them.
If you don't mind me asking, why did you stick with a 996? You had a very nice 996 aero and moved to this very nice 996TT. Did you consider any other, similar, cars?

This was really serendipity. I bought the 1999 C2 just before the 2020 price spike started, and I was able to sell at a considerable gain (due to dumb luck), and roll it into this 996TT that came up locally. The condition of the 2003, the low mileage, the service history and the fact that it's at a local dealer I trust made this a no-brainer.

Factory delete sunroof. Didn't even realize it was a thing until after I bought it.

And when I was still working on Porsches back in the 90's, Cabriolets were considered more expensive than coupes, now they're cheaper.

Sunroof delete is astronomically rare on 996, providing you didn’t actually want one you’re very fortunate 🤑

VintageCollector's rear wing is a Misha style GT2 wing. I have one on my black Turbo.

I'm not even sure of the manufacturer. I'm new back into Porsches after being out for 25 years.

As someone else said, it looks like a Misha wing. It's made of Carbon Fibre (you can see the pattern even though it's painted blue).

Frankly, I'm not a huge fan of the wing. I feel like a 14 year old boy with it but the car gets lots of looks and people seem to like it.
