Keep the nice finds coming. My bro in Seattle area is looking. I think I have him convinced to get a 996TT. Your posts keep him drooling.

You don't seem to get it. What is and is not driver involvement is a personal opinion. Your measure of the amount of inputs is not everyone's, and clearly not mine.

There is a minimum number of physical activities that are required to change gears in both a Tip and a 6-speed, and they are measurable.

This issue has been thoroughly explained by myself and others here. I'm not sure there is anything left to say that will help you understand.

The dreaded tippy-thumb injury. This is why I'm staying with a manual.

.
So what if they are measurable? Those "measurements" have no correlation to the pleasure derived by each individual while driving.

You said "Your measure of the amount of inputs is not everyone's"

It is for everyone who has normal anatomy.

You also stated "Physical and mental functions do not equal involvement"

But they do.

Driving a manual transmission is a more involved process, regardless of whether or not one subjectively likes driving that transmission.

No, driving a manual car requires more driver input. Whether that make the driver feel more involved in the driving process is purely up to that individual.

Driving a manual shift car does not make me, nor many others, feel more involved in the drive. When I drive my two manual shift collector cars after about 15 minutes I am done, I am bored of the slowness of the manual shift. I want to get back into one of my two modern sports cars with semi-automatic gear boxes. More physical inputs do not yield more involvement for everyone.

I think I've explained it as throughly as I can, but you still can't seem to understand. So be it.

That is because you do not understand the importance I place on emotional involvement when choosing a sports car. It far far outweighs the simple measuring of physical inputs and declaring I am more involved because of mere physical inputs.

Every time I see the thread moved up I think there might be a good deal for a car. Nope just a bunch of back and forth bickering.....

I am in Atlanta for a short visit and decided to browse craigslist. Nice low mile example at the top of the market? or judging by recent BAT sales, just the right price:
