That dude has been posting that car for sale everywhere in an effort to get top dollar. I agree BaT is his best bet.

He probably doesn’t want to deal with some of the idiots on BaT.

What does that mean? Is BaT difficult to deal with. I thought they were a top-notch company to deal with...

BaT the company is great. But sometimes the auctions can be derailed by chuckleheads making unfounded comments.

Anyone else want to wash their hands or take a shower after reading some of these craigslist ads? I'll take BaT and its chuckleheads all day long over average craigslist ad/person.

I've used Ebay in the past to sell a few cars and have had good luck, Reasonable fees. Don't have to deal with Internet geniuses and all the sniping. If anybody has any questions you just get direct emails, And yes I have sold Porsches on there. Sometimes you might get oddball questions but no where near as bad as Craigslist or BAT

BaT can be a hassle to deal with...

On the listing side:
  • They are capricious in which cars they accept for auction. The probably take 1 out of 10 submittals at best.
  • They push for low reserves.
  • Seller has little to no control over when the item is listed/ending.
  • They wash their hands of the transaction once the hammer drops.
On the auction side:
  • Sellers have to deal with a fair number of armchair experts who will sometime like to derail the auctions or have you jump through ridiculous hoops even though they have zero intention of putting a reasonable price bid on the car
  • Buyers have to bid with potential shill bidding from insiders who know the reserve
  • Transactions don't actually close post-auction a fair percentage of the time....
But yes, you often see remarkably high hammer prices on BaT auctions.
