There is no literal memory in muscles.

The complexities of driving a manual are complexities regardless of where the movements/timing are held within the brain. Complex processes do not become less complex just because they may be performed in the subconscious mind. The subconscious may in fact be just another level of the conscious brain. Freud originally embraced the term subconscious but later abandoned it in favor of the term unconscious. Here is what he said: ""If someone talks of subconsciousness, I cannot tell whether he means the term topographically – to indicate something lying in the mind beneath consciousness – or qualitatively – to indicate another consciousness, a subterranean one, as it were. He is probably not clear about any of it. The only trustworthy antithesis is between conscious and unconscious."

Regardless, complexity (involvement) is complexity no matter where it is held in the brain, or where in the brain it is engaged.

Regardless of the level of emotional involvement, the mental and physical levels of involvement (complexity) between driving a manual transmission versus driving a Tiptronic are measurable, and are therefore factual. Whether or not one decides to become emotionally involved with one or the other is a different consideration. Emotional involvement with either transmission is subjective, but the level of operational involvement is objective.

If you found someone who had never driven a vehicle but who subjectively embraced a desire to operate a vehicle that required less driver involvement, then you could say "I have just the car for you", and present them a car with with either a fully automatic transmission, or a 996 Turbo with Tiprtonic transmission.

Of course not literally. Muscle memory is a universally accept term of learned physical repetition.

You do not seem to understand that physical action does not always equal involvement. Prisoners breaking rocks in Leavenworth surely are moving around a lot but what they are doing is a mindless task. Many folks see rowing through gears as also a mindless uninvolving task.

Back on topic, it was RNMfest today on BaT. I can't imagine how this one didn't go past 37 and a half, since a not as pretty one (also a tippy) with 100k miles and aftermarket wheels made 33k three weeks ago.

And not accurately so.

Physical action always requires some level of mental involvement.

Physically moving a single switch to change gears with a Tiptronic will always be more mindless than moving three appendages to change gears with a 996 Turbo manual transmission.

i dont know, , but it does have incorrect tire size. and that could wreak havoc on the differential.

For some it is more about the reaction of the car to the human inputs rather than the amount of human inputs. Less can sometimes yield more.

If you find out which one put those wheels on let me know, I want to press charges.

We're talking about the driver's involvement, not the car's involvement.
