Miss the motor, found some really funky stuff here, whilst looking for a collection of Mexican statues.. Distinct lack of Porsche here, a few Macans, a cayenne setup for desert duty and a gt3rs, for whom I felt sorry for because his front lip had clearly been eaten by one of the infamous Mexican speed bumps...
I would love to have either turbo here because as best I can tell, the Mexican municipal police do not enforce speed limits, and the roads are exceptionally well maintained; I think excessive sitting in the sun would damage the paint, and the sun is relentless.
As an aside, my kia van will top 120mph then it gets a little floaty.
Washed it, got all the track rubber marks off of it, removed the loose wheel studs, loctited and reinstalled them. Probably not something you need to check very often unless you track your car but when I swapped back to my street wheels I noticed my LF hub had two studs that were loose. So yesterday I checked all the studs on all the hubs. Only the LF ones were really loose but every hub had several studs that were loose to the point that I pulled them out, reapplied loctite and then reinstalled them. The heat from track work is most likely baking the loctite off after awhile...
I haven't done much of anything to my 996 recently besides wash it and drive it periodically. It needs an oil change soon though and a quick going through before I drive it down to Rennsport Reunion in September.
This has been getting most of my attention lately.
