Sadly not available in the turbo. The only attempt to manual swap a Cayenne Turbo that I know of ended in failure. It was not possible ti get it to work without the auto box.
I don't remember all the details. The problem was the interaction between all the electronic systems on the car. ECU expects to tell the transmission how quickly to shift or something like that. Without that the ECU goes into limp mode.
Picked up my car at BHR. They installed a Kline exhaust (Rennlist find), Wagner competition intercoolers, stage 1 GIAC tune (1.1 bar observed on drive home vs 0.7 before), plugs, coils, and fuel filter. 27,000 miles on the clock. Wagner intercoolers 5.75 inch with carbon shrouds. Perfect fit. Used Kline exhaust in VGC.

The Cayenne is ridiculous as far as electronics go. Behind the dash looks like a 747. There's something like 40 modules on the CAN-BUS, it's about as German as it gets.

One would figure that engine and tranny ecus would be separate.... It's a pity because that would be a super cool swap.

Oh, the ECU's are separate. Everything has it's own ECU and they all communicate: ABS, AWD, DME, Trans, Air shocks, Instruments, Gateway, it's all interconnected. There are ECU's stuffed into every corner of the car.
What is interesting is that on the 991, the dealer can code out things like the front air dam, the rear wing and a myriad of other things.
You would think the same basic software architecture on the cayenne turbo would allow for a similar function, ie, remove the engine ecu ability to look for the tranny, which I think would be super neat.
Or, at least, have some similar type of coding to the gts with the six speed, which is a rare beast, but has been done.
May in fact be easier to swap a turbo motor into a six speed gts than a manual into a turbo....
Modern engines are all tied together since they run on torque demand maps. Engine and trans have to talk to each other. Hell even nav systems are being integrated into the drivetrain now since they'll pre-emptively downshift based on upcoming hills based on GPS location. But standalone isn't out of the question nowadays since they can run DI engines and spoof can, it just gets very expensive and calibration is outside of the means of most people.
