I tried to go play in the snow the other day but living on a hill and the ice under the snow was no match for my summer tires.

I installed a PCCM+. Unfortunately, my parts guy sent me the retaining bar and center support for a .2 car so I borrowed a couple parts from the Boxster until the correct parts arrive.
It was a little bit more challenging to install it in this car vs the Boxster, which is an ‘04 550 SE so it has a MOST system. That was plug and play with a MOST converter box. Plug it all in and it works! The Turbo was a regular old non-Bose car so I had to remove a wire from the plug and ground a pin at the amp and change the volume setting on the radio, but it is all working now!
I want to convert this car to a .2 vent/cup holder setup but the cup holder cartridge and the vent piece itself are back ordered until February. We’ll see how it turns out and what parts become available when. I could always hunt on eBay for a vent and a cup holder! Here is how it sits now, which was just to get it going again so I could drive it without dangling switches and stuff.

I do, actually.

You need a new radio surround/horseshoe: https://www.suncoastparts.com/produc...223306XXX.html
You need a center vent: https://www.suncoastparts.com/produc...22630101C.html
You need a cupholder: https://www.suncoastparts.com/produc...21830201C.html
You need the appropriate radio mount, here is for the double-DIN nav PCM: https://www.getporscheparts.com/oem-...9965522311201c
You need the appropriate radio retaining bar, here is for the double-DIN nav PCM: https://www.goldcrest.parts/oem-part...ar-99655265304

Sorry for the mix of links there, I couldn't find everything at the same place.

You'll also need to do some creative trimming or bending or adjustment to the 996.1 in-dash vent tubing. It doesn't fit the 996.2 vent front-to-back, and it's too tall to fit over the retaining bar and cupholders. I am going to try something like trimming the center vent piece (the one that comes out, not the one in the dashboard) and removing a couple inches of length, then heating/bending/pushing it out of the way and shoving the cupholder in there, but I might need to do something a little more creative.
Unfortunately, Suncoast has the cupholder and center vent backordered for a couple months. I replaced the cupholder on the Boxster because the faceplate was broken, and then I was doing some garage cleaning and threw it away. It didn't occur to me I would need it for another car. Whoops!

That's from my Boxster Special Edition. (This picture is one I found on the internet, it is not from my car.) It has a painted gauge surround, horse shoe, and center console. I want to replicate this in my Turbo, too, because I really love it in the Boxster! I never would have bothered with it, or thought about spending money on something so purely cosmetic, until I got this car. It feels very special!

Pics!!

How did that work? You sent in your parts and they returned them painted? Do you mind if I ask how much that was?

mine looks exactly like this in guards red. I bought an extra and sent them the original.
