Factory manuals. You can download them online. I think on 6speed.

Thanks I referenced these, shop manual was hard to sort through so I gave up. Removing the motor is actually quite straightforward once you figure out the AC compressor and ps reservoir situation. The rest is pretty standard across the 996 platform

Default Removed the 18 year old Body condom

Turbo had protection film installed when new. when I bought it, It had already had started cracking. Finally got around to removing it to get to pristine Seal Gray paint below.

Hard job as fall as work and effort, but all worth it.

almost one big sheet

Removing old PPF is an awful job. My last two 996s needed it and it's a lot of work. Worth it though.

a good trick to remove old PPF is to use boiling water to soften the glue... makes it really easy to peel all in one piece/shot... obviously wear gloves so you don't accidentally burn yourself...

Heat guns are also helpful - the melting point of the PPF glue is quite low, so careful application of heat pulls it right off.

My PPF was on for 15 years. It took a heat gun, plastic scraper, chemicals and a lot of elbow grease to remove it.

Lovely. I am considering removing it from the 991 as it looks like crap after only three + years - cannot wait.

Local PCA get together... One of the last of summer.

Not too many modded cars, 997t with staggered 18/19s, e88s as I was leaving, but not a bad bunch.
