as i just posted, i've never had an issue with my old cargraphic tune. replaced a clutch at 100k miles ( it didn't ever slip once with a hybrid turbo/tuned setup ) because my trans bearings needed replacing and i was in "there".
once i jumpered the clutch switch, i've never had one single spongy moment or issue with slave or accumulators.
more manual trans folks should look into that minor mod. before i did the "jump" to the switch, i had replaced slave once and accumulators twice. no more.

As it is just software we are talking about, a competent coder will be able to provide a reliable tune to any platform they are focused on; my 'Burban has been chipped for 19 years and nary a problem; Same goes for Acura - 23 years, and STI, 16 years.
Our cars are equipped with wide bands from the factory, this allows all the tuners to have greater resolution into how their changes are impacting the motors PDQ without have to stick a wide band in the tailpipe and get the car on a dyno.

Those are good numbers that demonstrate a high degree of reliability. I cannot recall when Cobb came out with the X50 tune, but it has been on my car with similar reliability.

For me, it starts of being suspicion and then grows into superstition the more it happens.
