And so clean - impressive, especially the calipers - they look new!
This is my inspiration, I think the new design pays homage to the original:

That is an excellent example of why nice things do better when kept in a garage.
It shows.

Three Wheelin'
I found a split left outer cv boot. Thinking the boost were the same as the 928/930/944 change it only to find the shaft diameter is smaller. Duh!! So I order the correct boot along with new undercarriage clips. Annnnd those took care of the annoying metallic tensing noise I would get when putting the car into reverse or climbing a slight incline ie. parking.
Now next issue is recurring knocking noise from the front suspension. Last time I changed ball joints and the noise went away. It's back again after 5000km. I think it's my fault for buying then cheapest LCAs I could find. Think I'll spring for branded parts the next time.
I need the advise of this brain trust.
I found another 996tt with all the tuning bits I like: new coil overs, GT2 rear wing, front splitter, exhaust system, and 19in wheels. The asking price is cheap ie. under 30k. I wonder how much will all those goodies cost? Maybe it's worth my time to buy it, swap the parts out and sell it as a more stock car. I'd have to factor in paint.
It has 130,000km mine has 40,000.

Did the following last night:
-Finished replacing both boots on my driver side axle
-Replaced differential seal on driver side axle
-Fixed my leaking washer pump hose
-Fixed my torn ball joint boot
-Flushed and bled all 4 calipers (had 2 seized pistons, broke 1 bleeder screw)
-Increased ride height on my H&R coilovers
Can't wait to go drive it, when the rain stops!

I could live with the many pits and light scratches of what I think was the original, 19 year old windshield, but a highway rock hit a few weeks ago did her in with a big crack right through the drivers field of view....
I went with FYG glass. OE seal and trim. About $450 all in. FYG glass looks excellent on inspection.
