I might guess a vacuum leak to be hanging like that.
I’m guessing you already cleaned the TB too already.
Is there any codes?
to little info to have any good ideas.

No codes, reset the TB, reset the fuel trim, reset the TB again, checked the piping, etc., nothing obvious.

Works well in second gear, will hang in 1st, like so:

Yes, it is a puzzle for sure. This happened when I was bedding in the brakes, doing a number of runs up and down second gear.

Since I"m ultra new to these cars my knowledge base isn't that good, but could it have something to do with timing and the cam position? You would think that it would throw a code though if timing was slightly off or a cam lobe got messed up. That is essentially what those cams do.

This is one reason I don’t like drive by wire system. If it had a cable you could check for it binding some where, this is strange.
so it only happens in first and all other gears drives fine and drops rpm’s like normal.
have you tried unhooking the battery and let it sit for about 30min. It won’t hurt your tune any but maybe it will clear an unwanted bug in the system.

I took that advice earlier today - but only for about 10 minutes.

This started last weekend when I was driving in circles, bedding in the brakes - after I had done about 80 stops, I went to park it (for three hours...) and stopped to talk to my buddy, and it died. I got it started, it died. It took about 5 goes to get it back in the garage.

There was nothing obviously twisted or binding, I will have a closer look tomorrow.

Cheers,

I filled it up yesterday. Got a rather mind boggling 22mpg out of the last tank, which was my first tank of the season. Mostly city driving and playing in boost.

My all time high mileage number was 22.8mpg - I think you're doing it right...

And, just to be on the safe side, ordered some new plugs.
