I had a specific target when I started modifying my car. My intent was to keep the car as stock as possible visually, use Porsche parts when I could, hit my target, and then stop modifying the car. I in fact hit my target, and although for a few years after I finished modifying my car I was tempted to do more modifications, I fought those urges off and stayed on target (happy now that I did.) I haven't had the urge to do more modifications on the car for many many years, and I think I'm far enough past it that I'll never be tempted to do anymore mods.

Opinions will vary...
Yep, I've gone with an OEM+ philosophy on my car. So if Porsche makes something that fits my car and makes it better, I've added it. So things like the 997 GT3 shifter, 996 GT3 front brake calipers, 996 GT2 rear wing, etc. Obviously the tune and exhaust are aftermarket but as someone else said, they're basically "normal" for one of these now...

Finished up the brake upgrade on my car. 350mm rotors all round, Freddy Lewis' spacers in the back with stock calipers, 996 GT3 calipers in the front, new pads all round, fresh fluid.

Lookin' good Doc. You'll like the upgrade, for sure. What pads did you go with? Also, what studs are you using?

Went with Ferodo street pads front/rear. I'll go with PFC pads for the track.

Studs are from ACS.

110 lb/ft?

I had been doing mine to 96 lb/ft based on the owner's manual, and only recently learned that Porsche had increased the spec.

EDIT: Sounds like I was remembering wrong and it should be 100 lb/ft, not 110.

IMO, sticking with the factory recommended 96 lb/ft of torque for the wheel bolts is perfectly safe for street cars.

everyone(?) knows that 100ft lbs is and has been the standard for our cars although 96 was the factory spec back in the day. no matter the wheels.

any suggestion for 110 and above? must be for chinese mfg'd bolts. as if that would "help".

Back in the day? 96 is still in my owner's manual today.

Yea, not convinced just yet. As you state above, the factory wanted 96 Ft/Lb when new and I'm sticking to that until otherwise notified by Porsche via TSB for the 996.

your manual couldn't change! it's safely protected in an airlocked and alarmed time capsule lol. all kidding aside. near as i can remember, 100lbs has been the "updated" recommendation since - forever.

specs often change from "new". thankfully. i.e. the amended gear stack shim specs for g50/996t mt gear boxes.
