this is their entry level unit, and i hear from the grapevine it actually isn't produced in-house... but for my price point, i figured i'd roll the dice since i've always had good luck with their brand...

That's a factory Cabrio/Targa Bose sub.

Yes, it will work. BUT I'm pretty sure you need to cut a hole in your carpet for it to fit. I was considering going this route with mine, but I'm having a hard time convincing myself to do that to the carpet. You can see here how a a section of carpet is removed from the Bose Cabrios:

Oh yeah - who makes it? I thought everything they made was in house.

Thought I would celebrate the end of the world, and the price was right, so I bought this today...

I made some progress on going back to the stock exhaust. Successfully removed my aftermarket one without breaking any studs on the turbos. I had let them soak overnight in PB Blaster and hit the wrench with a hammer to break the nuts loose.

I have the stock exhaust in a box from the previous owners. It has Eisenmann tips on it that look like the OEM option (often referred to as "X50 style" though they weren't specific to the X50). These are not OEM, are they? Did a previous owner swap these tips onto the stock exhaust prior to swapping it out altogether, or was this actually the OEM for the (non) "X50" tips?

Related to the subwoofer discussion, I have the stock Bose (coupe) subwoofer, and it sounds absolutely awful. I'm thinking I will remove it to balance out some of the weight I'm adding back with the stock exhaust.

I like the idea of the cab subwoofer location, though my car audio days are behind me (probably a factor in the tinnitus that's forcing me to go back to stock).

they were specific to the x50 cars ( at least mine were ? ) - and i think ( therefore i am ) porsche called them "x54" tips. i prefer the way they look. much better than those awful ovals. i had them on my previous x50 car and listed on the "option" sheet - and also now ( fake mounted and purely aesthetically ) on my kline muffled car.

I love how they look, too. It's one of the options I fantasized about as a kid when I was playing Need For Speed: Porsche Unleashed and spec'ing out my fantasies on the Porsche Web site.

I was just curious if Eisenmann was actually the OEM. After some initial searching, it looks like they were?

Too bad I sheared off the bolt head a few years back when I was trying to put them onto my SpeedTech.

agreed and i dont even know who eisenmann is/was(?) but the only option i fantasized about and thought possible as a kid was living 1,000,000 years ago in a cave with raquel welch - but back to tips -

i know of no improvement of faux exhaust tips visually. other than this rvca(?) person here that has created his own center mounted dual tips that appear to be baffled and on the fly "on/off" like a "pse". i would chew my bumper for those lol

That's not to mention the bumperette delete, while we're talking about taking things off.
