but would you mind sharing via PM here in strict confidence? what they're charging ( "ballpark? ) you re: the calipers!? have you SEEN my "new ones"?! mine are factory fresh. and CHEAP! relatively speaking. just curious, if not? nbd, it's cool.
I will let you know if the rebuild is needed. I have the 6 pot Cup calipers, the stock ones never could brake smooth/quick at the track. Too much weight and speed for those little 4 pots to handle.

Dan is rather happy with me at the moment that I steered a new Cup car owner his way.

I figure he will give me a break on parts/labor for awhile

i'm sure he is, and there's no one better!.. i've been fortunate enough to get his former #1 guy and even manny to make house calls. they do great work and anytime i can not pay for his willow habit, is ok with me but i have to admit a sense of comfort when my car is worked on when surrounded by cup cars! no doubt.

but we know you're in GREAT hands. just so ya know.. the guy i'm using does the six pots, in fact his first set was a 6x4. at least check out his thread on the 6. but if dans already got em? its moot and their work is always first rate. i just wont pay shop rates for every little stupid daily thing that comes up, if ya know what i mean?

but he has always done me right, i just always have trouble finding my car whenever it's at his shop

cheers, and gl with the upgrades.. and the new year!

Went on a 80 mile drive up routes 39 / 37 and US 7, stopping just a few miles shy of Lime Rock. I'm still new to the area and learning the good driving roads up here. These ones are not bad, quite a few turns and elevation changes and some nice scenery. Days like today and yesterday is when I'm glad about the winter tires I bought. No snow on the ground and no salt to be wary of, but near-freezing temperatures such that it would not be fun at all to be on summer rubber.

His place is always packed full of cars. It is amazing how all the repairs are done on time.

Thanks and Happy New Year to you too!

Default R&D/Prototype

watching my favorite football team getting their asses handed to them has me fiddlin around some. decided to get underway with making my fire bottle mount for the passenger seat area. took enough measurements I may have killed the battery with dome light power.... looked very closely at a number of units suggested here to see how best I could tackle this. picture shows a cardboard mock up of my design so far with the black plastic prototype standing by. will do the final product in street sign aluminum sheet panel affixing the original extinguisher mount to my piece.

there are two small tabs present under my seats that seem to be to specifically for a mount. I was told the seats were a recaro Porsche offering, although im yet to confirm such. they are very nice with the headrest stamped Porsche crest. if I can get a decent shot maybe I will see if any of you might be aware of what they are.

Used the 996tt and the 928S4 to teach the Automotive Maintenance merit badge to a group of 15 Boy Scouts over at the Kansas City Automotive Museum.

Thanks guys! Other than driving, it's one of the most satisfying ways to enjoy these cars and makes you realize how truly blessed we are.

agree, with only my 4th 911 under my belt out of 30/40 or so cars over the decades, not counting my incendiary 914/6 lol ..i will NEVER forget my neighbors and mentors custom ordered 911S ordered in '66 and delivered by june 67. talk about "addicted"! old habits die VERY hard, and i inherited most of them from "him". RIP.

my epitaph shall read: i spent it all on booze, cars, dr**s and women, in no particular order, and i wasted the rest.
