Jake Im agreeing with you but you cant expect companies like Summit, Jegs, whoever to not carry products like ARP regardless of the engine aplication. I don't think they consider the R&D behind it or even care. Are you saying you want to keep all your R&D for yourself? Didn't you go through the same thing with the bearings, oil. etc? If Summit decided to carry IMSB's surely they would be cheaper than LNE's? Your advantage is that the M96 market is miniscule to them.
What your suggesting is that every company should perform R&D for free and or they should invent a prodcut and sell th rights on the free market.
Having said that, if the LN bearing was patented and the patent has run out then technically Flat 6 should have had the time to recoup the R&D overhead and some profit.
Simple business really, what's not to get?

Your insinuation that the cheap pricing being good for consumer, doesn't work well in our world. You made a couple of other comments that dove-tailed on this, RE development.
There would be no incentive for companies like L&N to spend time developing items, if they will lose out to the mass sellers working on low margins. Your thought process in the above posts was flawed.

The problem is not the mass seller like Summit. The problem is the deal LN/Flat 6 had to make with APR in order to have these bolts made. Looks like APR retained the rights to sell them to anyone.

On top of that, it's all pretty political, and I don't deal with politics.
I am done working with others in the industry, if I develop something it's going to be for my engines only and my purchasers will benefit from it. Otherwise it's time to check out.

Cuda, I think if everything checks out the new motor you found is worth it. 16K is easily worth 1k along with the better records and no tick. Also agree about getting a new bearing. Or even better put in the IMS pro Dual row bearing that just came out to replace existing single row bearings. I don't know the specifics of this but perhaps Jake could fill us in.

12/16/2014 Update:
Alrighty, now that we've had a brief lesson in market economics, back on topic:
OK, I'm in the process of buying an engine. It's neither of the two posted about above. This morning, DTMiller and dgjks6 sent me PMs regarding a third engine for sale, that is local (in Sacramento). Thanks, guys!
I had some correspondence with the seller, and he did a leak-down today. Numbers are good, and he send me a video clip of it running.
I notified the seller of the motor in Houston, and he was very polite about it, a true class act.
The problem I'm running into now is Christmas/New Year. The seller says he thinks he can get it down here by Mon. or Tues. next week. If not, I may need to wait until after new year.
Lingpoen, I'm having Mulligan Racing Development in Vista do the work.
OK, I didn't realize that I couldn't re-use my LN IMSB. Of course, with the press-fit, that makes sense.
So, who's got a link to the best price for one?
I suppose I should get a new AOS too. Too much chance of metal debris in mine so I probably shouldn't, since I don't really know the extent of internal damage to my motor.
If any of you still don't know what to get me for Christmas, you can add the IMSB and AOS to the list. Tonight is the first night of Hanukah, so you still have 8 days to get them to me if you prefer that holiday.

Two things of which I have none thereof.
(How's that for abused grammar?)
OK, one eBay vendor is selling the LN IMSB for $593.75:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Engine-Inter...c038e8&vxp=mtr
Another guy has it for a whopping $2,164.77:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Porsche-911-...0b4a1c&vxp=mtr
Then, there is every imaginable price in between.
Any reason I shouldn't buy the $593.75 one? Is there something suspicious there?
