I think he should keep the car and drop the wife as this is what she wrote in the ad:
"my husband is over his mid life crisis ..selling car with low miles 74, actual miles.."
Sounds as if she is the crisis and the car was his escape.
I write this as I am looking over my shoulder in case my wife detects a disturbance in the force.

kcattorney - I'm interested in the mesh front 996TT. I'm out of state and was hoping to find someone who could check it out. Problem is, the reply button on craigslist does not pull up contact info. How would I best contact you if you're open to helping out? Thanks!

woolleyl: I can get the ad to come up by clicking on the link that I pasted into the post here on Rennlist, but have the same problem as you in that the "reply" button does not function. When I search for the car on the Kansas City craigslist site, it does not come up. So, my guess is that it is not currently active in craigslist's system. I will check around and see if I can figure out if that car is still for sale and/or who owns it. It could be that they just took it off the market for a little while and will post it again later.
As for contacting me, I will send you a Private Message ("PM") via rennlist with my contact info. It should pop up on your inbox shortly.

Beautiful car - I am a sucker for Guards Red. Probably more like an $18,000 car max with those miles. I believe that's a convertible's rear spoiler as the normal Mk I coupe aero rear spoiler was a taco wing. Not sure if that's OE. Would like to see the options sticker -XAA is the aero option code.

Do it doc!
It has the Carrera Aero Kit, which was an optional Aero Kit only offered in 2001. It's essentially the same kit but with a different, non-taco wing
I wanted to buy one just like that in Louisiana months ago but I was too late to find it and someone else scooped it up.

As a total newb I was hoping I could get a few questions answered.
1. Whats a good price on this vehicle if the IMS Bearing has NOT been replaced? Like ~$14k?
2. Whats the best way to get a PPI in a town in the middle of no where when I live in Las Vegas? Just call shops around the area and try and find someone knowledgeable on the 996? The closest Porsche dealership is over 2 hours from the location of the vehicle.
