2000 speed yellow Carrera 2 cab, manual. Sporting 4S badges and floor mats. No mentions of maintenance history.

https://dallas.craigslist.org/ndf/fo...780595254.html

Seller is hoping for one heck of a speed yellow premium at $36,500.

"Unfortunately, these 996s no matter will never be worth much.. As much as we try and make ourselves squint and try to appreciate the look. There just fugly! I had a 996 4S and tried my hardest to love it. It was rare too! Low miles with sport exhaust and polar silver.".

So which is it liar ?

2000 C2 cab, vesuvio and sport seats with a new transmission on the Marketplace for $18,250.

2000 996 Carrera cab - VESUVIO & SPORT SEATS - Rennlist - Porsche Discussion Forums

(FYI this is my car. It is well-loved but very NOT fugly. I resisted making a burner account to hype it. )

Maybe it's just the lighting or camera, but the "speed yellow" color looks a bit off (a tiny bit orange-ish) to my eye.

I think I have seen that “4S” cabriolet for sale in the past wheels are strange and you think seller would have removed that badging not a real positive for any buyer.

Got several decent offers quickly and I was supposed to finalize the sale today. Couldn't sleep last night thinking about what a mistake I was making selling this car. Went to the garage and sat in it, and was like, "nah."

I texted the buyer at 3AM my apologies, I had a change of heart and was calling off the deal.

Seems like a good setup and I don't blame you for keeping it. Did you do the work yourself? I'm working on mine in Hood River. Let me know if you get out this way. I've always wanted to see that color in person.

PO did IMS/RMS/clutch/trans, I did the engine drop and variocam stuff.
Funny when you try to sell one of these - no one gives a you-know-what about the work. It's only about paint, body, originality. Zero added value from anything other than IMS.
Hood River is phenomenal, next time we take the 996 to Society Hotel I'll drop a line!

The "buyer" who focuses on those issues shows his or her ignorance of the 996. This won't go on for long. The well cared for cars will represent a small population of these and the gap between prices will soret out the marketplace.
