My buddy just bought a red over tan 996 turbo with around 17k miles for $70k. It’s mint. I think he did well

It’s maxed out on range 1revs

That’s pretty high for the mileage 🤷‍♂️

I could seriously not care less what happens to the value of my 996. Wouldn’t even know how to price it anyways (02 C4S with 85k miles - 3k miles on an proactive FSI 4.0L). What I do care about is how it makes me smile when I drive it. Which is often.

Couple of “bargains” on BaT today. I may sound like a broken record, but these weekend auctions on BaT are great for buyers but terrible for sellers.

I'm 700 miles on my FSI 4.0L 9a1 engine in my 09 4s so my 996 4s hasn't been driven in 2 weeks. As much as I love the 6 speed manual in my 996 (I've put 33k miles on it in 2 years), after just 700 miles with a PDK + Sports Mode + FSI engine I could easily never drive a manual again and not regret it. It is a different driving experience without doubt and I'm still adjusting to not using my left foot, but "put a gun to my head" and make me pick only one to drive forever and I'd have to go with the PDK. Maybe I wouldn't say that without the FSI 4.0 but that's the only comparison I have.

Totally believe you. Had a (n AMG Racing) Tip in my Twin Turbo and it was unrelenting, endless power. I never once thought “I need a clutch to stop this crack cocaine rush”. The PDK is the same unrelenting endless power only even more instantaneously unbelievable. Made me a believer!

So what time/day do you see as the best to end an auction on BAT?

Perhaps a combination of a weekend auction and being not the best examples.

Historically it’s late afternoon M-F when everyone is doing anything but the work we should all be doing.

Just one 996 auction left on BAT, pass the methadone.

That is a surprise, my guess would have been Sunday early evening

it appears you have the best of both worlds with a choice. I have a tip C2 and a macan turbo and a 05 Subaru STi to scratch the manual itch. Driving a manual is a pain in the butt sometimes no question
