Ok so a 996 is actually a 997 because they share the same motor. Got it

Well, 996 Turbo and 997.1 Turbo share the virtually identical GT1 derived twin turbo Mezger engine

Thus I give a pass to the 997's VW Beetle headlights; which are in fact worlds different from the brilliant monohoused racing lights used on GT1

As much as I appreciate this level-headed approach to the pricing phenomenon I have to admit - @bdronsick 's champagne spraying is much more fun.

Might as well enjoy

Every 911 gen the comments are exactly the same

Bash bash bash bubble bubble bubble, until prices hit $150K

Then nothing but: “I had a chance back in (subtract 7- years from current year) to purchase (insert 3rd previous 911 generation) but passed, I kick myself every day!”

The Rennlist song remains the same

Housing market (at least in my area) is the same. I've been hearing about a bubble for going on 10+ years now.

As long as the US govt owns printing presses and ink we are fine. I'm selling a NFT image of my 4s' rear for the bargain price of $50k. It's an extremely valuable one of a kind and shouldn't be confused with the other gazillion pictures of the same 4s rear end that I've posted. You can easily flip it for a huge profit, then purchase fractional ownership of the Brooklyn Bridge with the proceeds.

We’ll always have LeMans

Or at least the headlights that won LeMans

Yet, versions of the GT1 had round headlights. That doesn't make them an inferior car.

I think this whole headlight thing is silly. For one thing you can't see them while driving, which is the "correct" position to be in for any Porsche.

Secondly, the market simply preferred the round headlights. That means most prospective buyers, but not necessarily all, wanted it that way. Porsche followed the market. The trend hasn't reversed, so I would reason that it still holds true.

Very interesting color and spec on this one. All carbon fiber and supple brown leather on the inside.
