Since this is a Porsche forum, may I please suggest some classic German spirits: Asbach Uralt, Jägermeister, und ein bischen Kirschwasser? They are all pretty much based on grapes, or other fruits -- not grains. They used the grains for the beer, and to feed the "bratwurst", not for the spirits.

Millennials are buying this stuff because they think is cool. So over here there is a huge shortage of some good ones. I can’t find Buffalo trace, Blantons, early rare and a bunch of other stuff. Today I went to Total wine and more, I normally shop at specs, and the bourbon guy told me that some of the ones I wanted are barely allocated to them and I need to be the highest level in their program to participate in the bottle raffle. Anyway I guess for now is going to be buy the best you can at a good price whatever you can find. If you can actually find them now, 5 best under $30. 1. David Nicholson reserve 100, 2. Wild Turkey 101. 3. 1792 4. Evan Williams 1783. 5. Buffalo trace. Feel free to add more to the list.

Its beyond me why someone would post a 996 for sale without properly presenting it.
They are either (1) a clueless owner to what's important to the 996 community, therefore the car was most likely poorly serviced over its history. (2) quickly trying to sell the car, so forget about a sound service history. (3) Someone or an entity trying to flip a car from a trade-in or recent acquisition. So forget about a service history.
Sure there are more reasons, but buyer beware.

Here is a Scotch list since we have a bourbon and rye list. All are reasonably priced and good solid bottles to keep around the house without breaking the bank.
1. Speyside - Balvenie 12 Double Oak. Smooth from bourbon barrels and then Sherry casks. Good scotch for bourbon drinkers to try.
2. Highlands - The Dalmore 12. Smooth front end with complex back end with peppery finish. If you like rye, try this. Interestingly, this one seems to be a favorite with the ladies as well as guys. On the sweeter side like bourbon.
3. Islay - Bruichladdich Port Charles 10. Smooth, chocolate, Smokey. If you never had an Islay, this is a good one to start with since it doesn't have an iodine or salty aftertaste. Just plenty of flavorful smooth whisky and tasty smoke.
All three scotches not only go well with cigars, but the will help you to decipher BAT and PCar listings with more patience. They have also been successfully used to drink why sitting in the garage while looking at your 996 pondering the next project. Drinking and then driving is not advised. Do your hearty driving first.

I need education on RYE
would you guys please educate me. I just don’t want to spend $50 on a bottle and find out it was ****y. Had balcones RYE, wasn’t super impressed. The woodford reserve rye was ok but I like the double casked better. Any help would be appreciated.

996AE has a pretty good list that I have tried and is very good. He would have to fill you in on the details. Still learning rye myself.

That one is awesome the father of bourbon
yes I can get a bottle of Elijah Craig small batch 94 proof at $25. The bottle has 1789 on it. He settled in Kentucky with 300 of his followers since he was a preacher, then they started distilling bourbon, awesome religion and alcohol, what else we need some good barbecue, pizza and beer. Have to love this world,
