Be interesting where this one ends up. IMS not done and virtually no records, yet looks to be in good condition and great colors.

Bids should pick up drastically in the final 30 minutes of the close.

Par for the course now. The days of well documented, pristine 996 examples have mostly vanished. Apparently those cars all found good homes to ride out the next (massive Classic 911 appreciation) wave.

Has anybody noticed that Johnny Irish has commented on the BAT auction (speed yellow 996 that ends today) ?! Wow!!! I wonder what kind of watch he wears when he's surfing BAT ?!?! I'm guessing a TAG Heuer Lemans with the Gul Livery face...

A couple of years ago, my wife and I went with friends to Notre Dame for a football game. It was a drive from Chicago to South Bend in their Tesla. Give me a petrol powered car with or without a hybrid system any day over electric. Tesla, Porsche, it doesn't matter.

A few months ago, a Taycan pulled into a parking lot and I coulda sworn I heard fake exhaust sounds coming from it.

I don't get it. But I respect that there are those that do. How else will we get innovation.

Why do people insist on putting the laim'o automatic spoiler up in still photo's ? It's not like it makes the car look better... I get it for motion shots where you're actually going faster than 70mph (that's where it deploys), but to put it up to tool around town of for a still photo is just pathetic...

He's a guy (John Ireland) that was on here a few years back who continually made a point of asking what kind of clothes or accessories we liked to wear while driving our Porsche's... He would then wax poetic about some vintage watch or leather driving gloves or tweed jacket that he bought at some special point in his life... He seemed like a nice enough guy but he must have been bored... He eventually tired of being harrassed and moved on...

You could make the case that the best examples haven't been sold yet. Who wants to sell a car that they love and is in impeccable shape if prices are only going to go up?

Not me.

He actually bought and sold a 996 last year. Told the tale on 996 Outpost.

Pretty strong for end bids, sat at $18.5k for a while there, had me fooled. Original owner getting it back is also cool.

Was kind of surprised that it sat low until less than 30 minutes to go. Usually it's picked up by then.

Amazing how many people bid early and then never bid again. Then you have guys come out of nowhere that bid in the final moments. Can definitely tell the real ones from those just having fun.

Thats what I meant; a good home for any 911 is just as you said: anywhere it’s loved by an owner who knows the price is only going up.
