Have prices for rollers made any significant movement? Has anyone seen any change hands?

So what are we saying?

40th noticably more valuable? Or is the usability and wide body of the 4S enough to make it as or more expensive?

I have limited knowledge of the 40th anniversary edition. Other than low production numbers and unique color should they command a premium over the wide body?

The same could be asked about Millennium Editions. I don't know the answer

Guess that depends what you're into 😁
AE also include LSD, X51, Full Leather and turbo bumpers.

The rarity appeals to some collectors and they also came with the X51 engine package, so to some, the answer is 'yes' as to value. I'm a fan of the early '99 builds (having a 02/98 build) that seem to have more of an unintentional scarcity and desirability than the programmed rarity of any of the anniversary models.

X51 alone justifies the 40th premium as it includes the wet sump baffle, additional oil pumps, and third radiator. The Natural full leather is another costly plus.

1,963 and there quite a few hundred unaccounted for - as in did Porsche even build them ?

the 40 jahre does command a premium. When I was looking, a comparable condition 40 jahre was about $10k more than I paid for my C4S. I looked at a couple and really wanted one.

One odd thing about the 40 jahre is that it has sideskirts of the turbo but the rear bumper of the standard carrera, which kind of makes it look like it's sticking it's butt up in the air. It is a distinct look. Once you see it, tough to unsee.

Personally, I like it a lot. But I have heard people say they think it looks funny.

Of course, but it's also a lot more work. I think some buyers with enough money just like the convenience of checking out a car online and buying it from your chair, without having to go to look at it in person, setting up a PPI, etc. Crazy but that's the appeal of BAT.

I get that if BAT vetted the cars more closely.. They don't physically inspect any cars.. do they?

the Porsche official times are faster for the 996.1 cable throttle than the 996.2. I was thinking about buying a 997 Carrera S, but the more I drive my car the more i love, it’s light nimble and with the suspension set up is like it is on rails. Not to mention how good
it feels at triple digit speeds with the 0.30 drag coefficient. I’m going to build a motor for it. Right now everything is peachy with my engine. I just got a Carrera s 3.8 l air box and
some x pipes that I’m going to put on. Latter on I decided, I’m going to go for a 3.8, balanced blueprinted and
ported and polish heads, 5 angle valve job. This is still going to be cheaper than a $50 to $60k on a Carrera S.
