Well, that's nice!
Fingers crossed for decent weather, we could get anything in early April from snow to sunny and 70 degrees.

Yup, not looking perfect as of now but so far out.
I spent some time re-bedding brakes, the NT01s definitely need more heat in them then putting around on the street and I was able to get the ABS to light up at will. Brakes feel fine though and car is pulling hard.
The car is handling so good. I think the suspension updates and the LSD have a ton of potential.

OT - NOT ABOUT THE CAR
Soooo.... Got a bug up my *** to add some personality to my helmet - it was cheap and I've been looking around for something nicer and know, its going to be a backup or just retired at some point in the not so distant future.
I love racing helmets, Motor Cycle helmets mostly - Rossi, Colin Edwards, Nicky Hayden (RIP). I wanted to take a stab at painting mine - now I have never painted a helmet before, in fact, the only things I've ever painted were rattle can camo jobs... But I figured, what the hell - if it comes out terrible, the guys on RL and the track can have a nice chuckle.
Well, It didn't come out terrible, but didn't come out good either. While the picture in my head came to life, the details, and quality are a long, long way from even a good amateur job - but I learned a TON.
1. Masking tape, even the good stuff needs to be done with patience and care (way more than I put in) on complex uneven surfaces - In a bunch of places where different shapes met, the tape pulled away and let paint underneath it.
2. I knew to peel the masking tape back before the paint dried... But I didn't get to it fast enough and had a bunch of spots where paint pulled off with the mask... some not so bad and one or 2 completely horrific examples, overall - the sharpness of the lines sucks... I could have probably gone back and fixed it, but like my typical impatient self - just sent it and told myself I can always sand it down and do it again.
3. I should have devoted another 2-3HRS to this project, the results would have been sooo much better. Because it was my first time and as I was going I started to get excited, like, hey ! maybe this isn't going to turn out like **** after all , I rushed at the exact moment I should not have.
So, cause I show my dudes the good, bad and ugly (this is a little of all 3) I figured I would post it up - if this kind of thing is something any of you guys have experience in, I would love to hear from you - I had a lot of fun doing it despite the fact I have like 0% artistic make up.

That looks great!
Here’s my helmet.
It’s waiting patiently in its bag for a chance to be used.

Nice design, but maybe should have been black and orange. Don’t listen to me me though, my wife says I have terrible taste in colors. LOL

Looks like something Leonardo DiVinci would paint if he had a helmet.

Already have some ideas for the next one, know the helmet too, just need to pony up the money, a whole lot of it.
Thanks for the comments and cool lid Tex, classic !
Weather looking little tenuous for Sat, between 10 and 30% chance of rain depending on where you look. Looks to be in the low 60s though, so that’s a big plus.
PS... DiVinci huh... I’m going to take that as a compliment.

Yes, my tie-in was that DaVinci may have been the only combined "artist" and "engineer". Now you are the second!

I like the helmet. The paint bleed from the tape almost looks intentional. Give it a coat of matte clear coat and it will look pretty decent. In the future, if you're going to do complicated tape work like that, invest in some fine line masking tape, it will take the curves better.

Pre track oil change and nut and bolt. Took it for a quick rip to get the oil up to temp.
1. the DT40 I’m taking out looks brand new, I guess it should. Has like 100 miles on it, but it’s been in since Dec maybe, which is about the longest this car had the same oil in it in a year.
2. I’ll never take this car off the street, after an underwhelming work day, it still puts a huge smile on my face.
