Thanks Randy, I’m really happy with how they came out, sometimes it’s the little things.

Full race car, guess that will depend on peoples definition. Will have all the stuff required for a MA inspection and I fully intend to get an inspection sticker when it’s due. Still want to make those ice cream runs.

Hope everyone has a merry Christmas.

Just build updates here until she’s done and then I’ll do a big write up here after of all the changes.

I like big colors crazy shapes but also classic so folks will just have to use their imagination until it’s done.
I was hoping to see the black/orange theme continue...or perhaps a Gulf livery.
An orange Jägermeister livery would be cool too!

But now it is definitely a blank slate, so have fun!
I just hope it doesn't match your helmet...no offense.

Thats a good question I will not have an answer to until she's done...

The last weight I have on the car is 2945.

The doors likely saved an estimated 90LBS.
The hood is a confirmed 16LB savings.
I pulled out about 7LBS of wiring / connectors.
The dash is getting thinned down underneath, cutting out brackets and things I don't need.
I don't have a weight yet of the roof swap, the new one is at the body shop, If I had to guess, I'd say between 20 to 30LBS.

I still have some parts on the way that will account for some additional savings.

But... and it's a big but - I have a bunch of weight thats going INTO the car.

The cage design is overkill, it's going to weigh a lot. If you told me 150LBS, I'd say OK. I am not sure at this point, suffice to say, its going to be heavy.
The brakes, both rotors and calipers are significantly heavier than stock - will get weights on them when my rotors arrive and get to swapping the new stuff on.

Knowing that the cage is going to be so heavy, I've really been looking in most of the logical places for weight savings in hopes to mitigate.

I'll be nervously excited to get it back on the scales when done. The goal has always been to get into the 27XX mark, I am really not sure I will get there without tearing it down to the shell and only putting back in exactly what is needed.

First of the dash mods done - new carbon switch plate ready for switches... And that should be the last of my major carbon cutting jobs... thank baby jesus, I hate cutting carbon.

This is funny, and interesting. So I got my rotors in today - shout out @FCP Euro for hooking up the deal making some very expensive rotors a little bit more manageable and getting the parts here post haste.

1. 380MM rotors are ridiculously big - like you know they're big, then you see them next to a 330MM (C2 stock front size, my new rear size) and you're like...okeeeedokey The 330MM rotor on the left is a 996 GT3 rear that happens to be the same size as the C2 stock front, this, along with a little help from my guy Aaron will, hopefully, get the stock front calipers moved to the back without too much trouble. The new 380MM front rotors come off a 997.2 GT3 (same as new front calipers)

2. The construction of the 380MM Sebro rotor is different from the stuff I have run before. It is like a 2 piece design, with a distinct hat, but is a single piece. First 2 pics are the 380MM and the 3rd the 330MM, regular style.

3. I was surprised at the weight - I weighed the new 380MM against the 330MM rears, the 380MM is 24.5 LBS compared to 21.5 LBS for the 330MM. Not not a perfect comparison yet because I don't have a stock C2 front rotor off the car yet, but interesting none the less. When I get to swapping everything over I will definitely get good weight comparisons.

What u need is either gt3 rear uprights or if the other Aaron is making u a custom spacers have him make it an extra 10mm thicker so u can use the 997 turbo 350mm front rotors in back.

Are you Aarons like telepathically linked or something... He said something very similar.

The rotors need to be from the rear to retain the parking brake... yes ? And I am retaining the parking brake, it's a street car for petes sake.

I would like to think, this will be enough brakes to stop a friggin freight train and the GT3 rears are available, and cheap

I am running the same rotor in the back that i was running in the front on the c2. With the spacers from Martins big rotor kit. They work fine with the e-brake. Im actually using the rotor Martin suggested which was a rear rotor. Ill look up what i bought because it came in a slotted only which is better then drilled.

ill have to see if i can find the exact part number but they were zimmerman panerama rotors. I think '14 turbo rears.

fcpeuro SKU: ZIM-460158620 and SKU: ZIM-460158720

Jason, enjoying the next phase of your build.

Not only will the rotors look incredible on your car, but the extra braking power and fade reduction will be a mind blower. I wouldn't be surprised if you didn't shave off 2 seconds a lap using your set-up this past season with the addition of the new brake system. With the new suspension and aero you are planning, it will certainly be enhanced.

Looking forward to the rest of the build.

I could not find an available slotted 380MM single piece rotor. Given the fact the FCP has lifetime replacement guarantee - the drilled really does not make a big difference as when they develop cracks around the holes, I'll just swap them out. The expense of the rotors, either single piece or 2PC meant I wanted to be strategic about what I went with to try to keep running costs more manageable.

I'll start with the 330MM in the back and leave the 350MM option on the table if needed.

Thanks Glenn ! feels like a lot to go but progression is happening.

If the brake setup saves a couple seconds a lap, I will be beyond ecstatic !

That rotor design is fairly common for OEM style huge rotors. My buddy's Shelby GT350R has a similar rotor on the front. At first I thought it was actually a 2-piece setup - he tells me it's not. That design with the pins holding the disc to the hub is supposed to limit the amount of heat transferred into the hub. A good idea, in my book.

Ha, yes I suggested that to Jason yesterday. The GT3 rear uprights are the same as Turbo/C4S rear uprights and should be pretty easy to find. The spacers can be made any thickness - just need to match the caliper bolts.
I think the current setup will be great, and if there is a need for more rear brake the options available are pretty economical.

My prediction is that within 3 track days before u r looking for s better brake balance. I think my car is pretty good with 350mm front and back. Going 380f and 330r way require the next level pad in the back. Many run pagid yelliw fronts and blacks on back spec cars because they r limited on what they can upgrade.
