Good information. That is missing from my manual, but that matches the same source as mine (wsm.co.uk). I wonder if that section is hidden in a location other than where it should be sequenced?
Lots of stuff to install, route and re-route. Lowered the engine a little to route things for the UAOS and coolant hoses. I only learned a few days ago that a little c-clip held the brake booster elbow in place. Made that installation a little less cumbersome.
Torqued the transmission mounting hardware to spec, then had at the clutch slave cylinder. What a pain. Well below the suckiness level of the fuel cooling lines, though. Got the left rear axle shaft installed as well.
Transmission cables and reverse switch were much less trouble. A little grease, some zip-ties and rebending the retaining clip put things right.
Close to tightening the oil feed line. It's just loosely assembled here.
After getting off work - and stepping out the back door - I messed around in the yard and garden. Decided a two hour dose of mind clearing mowing was needed. May have helped. I didn't expect to accomplish much on Speedy today. It turns out I got through 7.5 tasks of my 10 point list. The first few were coolant lines and hoses. Then the IMSS oil feed line.
The hose clamps are sometimes a bitch to work with. I made note of Bruce's channel-lock modification and performed a similar operation. Wish I had done that a couple of days ago. The left side of the engine has a bunch of annoying clamps. And one that is not original...
Installed the oil filter and torqued the bolts on the RR axle shaft.
Started putting in the oil and added enough P/S fluid to get to the "hot" mark.
The other two items on the list are installing the belt and filling the transmission with lube. Maybe tomorrow...

On my 996.2, I unplugged the coolant sensor connector from the coolant tank and made my connections near the connector, then wrapped it with electrical tape to the plastic loom.
I didn't want to cut open the factory loom to make the connection closer to the air pump.
It was a simple task to connect the infrared sensor.

That's my plan, too. I just don't like how hard it is to access the coolant sensor - now that everything is in place.
Getting real close to the big day. Wrapped up the underside of the engine and bracing.
The IMSS oil feed line fits nicely and is well protected. This, even before I put on the skid plate.
Connected the O2 sensors. I didn't replace these, yet. I did make sure I could get them out, though. I do have a new MAF sensor arriving on a slow boat from Latvia. Seriously. It was ordered more than a month ago and is still not due until May 27.
The 9th quart of oil is in. The transmission is full. The power steering reservoir is probably close to where it needs to be.
Next to last fluid.
The last will be gas. I tired to put some in today. There must be a valve that closes the filler neck when power is cut. I experienced this before and I am sure I had the battery disconnected then as well.
Not many parts left to install. Body pieces don't count.
