I replaced my Renegade BBK which uses 997 Turbo S rotors in Front with Girodisc (pronounced Ji-row-disc) front & back.
Weight savings of 16 pounds of unsprung weight in front and 10 pounds in back
My front rotors went from 350mm to 340mm. (Factory is 317mm)
My rear rotors went from factory 289mm to 325mm.
This is super minor, but do they offer a straight-slotted version of those rotors? I've had Girodiscs on other cars and recall them having straight instead of curved slots.
Yes, I can’t wait to take it for a drive to bed in the new rotors and test them out.
I also installed 997 turbo rear brake ducts.
They required minimal modding to clear my 18x11 rear wheels.
Nothing a utility knife with a new blade couldn’t take care of.

I don’t know if they do.
These are what were sent to me.
I prefer the curved slots.
My old BBK had straight slots and I could hear them hit the brake pad when stopping at stop signs.
These Girodiscs are silent when stopping.
I’m extremely happy with the Girodiscs.
I can definitely feel a difference.

The slots usually are pretty diagonal to the edge of the pad, I've never experienced that. Weird. I like the look of the straight slots (period-correct motorsport nostalgia?), will just have to call and ask.

Man I think we share the same brain for this stuff. I was looking at Giro because I don’t know if the 380mm set up will work with the TEs sooo I was looking at rebuilding my OEM calipers and finishing it up with Giros.

That’s a pretty good price.
Thanks guys and added to my loooong list of things to get.
I bought it a set of 997 wheels...
... ignore the snow tires. Not that they wouldn't be handy this time of year... maybe I'll drive on them until spring. Hmm.
Anyway... I have this kink to paint them a bright contrasting colour, maybe with a matching side stripe on the car to liven up the somber Seal Grey. Still mulling it all over. Step 1: Going to offer them up later and see what spacers are required for the right look and fitment. Step 2: Kink?
Drove my car after completion of a minor refresh… one more oil change and a quick wash before it’s mine again!
