I finally got around to acquiring, painting and installing aero side skirts and painting and installing the DNS spoiler I got a few months ago. I’m fairly happy with the results…
oh… and I tried to pop out the center caps to re-clear them (both rear crests were cloudy)… needless to say all I wound up doing was tearing the Porsche crests off 🤬 I’m wondering what type of “glue” you guys have had success with (I’ve tried gel type super glue before and lost the crests). The stuff that was on them was super tough but still flexible…

I had one fall off when pressure washing the car. I used 3M double-sided VHB tape. Same stuff used to hold body pieces (e.g. side skirts, front lips) on other manufacturers, so it should hold up for a long time.

I've used "Goop" glue on the crests I made for my car. It stays flexible and holds great. I used some to glue a hinge on a heavy glass door on my B&O stereo 20 years ago and it's still holding,
After two close calls recently, and a non-working horn that prevented my warning the other drivers that I occupied my lane and couldn’t move…I finally fixed my horn.
Turned out that the wire for the horn from my MOMO hub had broken at the solder joint.
A quick resolder solved it.
Same exact thing happened to me too. I ended up soldering it again and zip tied the wire with some slack to the hub under the cover so it can't break again. Has been fine for a few months now.
I have the shortblock almost finished on my 99' yellow cab.
Put the bank 1 head on this AM.
This engine spun a main bearing due to a incorrectly installed scavenge pump.
This engine is like a Johnny Cash song- 1 piece at a time- the crankshaft and carrier from another donor engine, lots of other pieces salvaged from parts I had.
Not a performance build by any means, just a driver for my pops.
Drove the 996 all over doing errands today, then spent some clean up time in my very cramped garage in prep for the weekly PCA breakfast in the morning.
