Confused by this post, to say the least. If you need 4 radiators, something else is wrong.

Took my exhaust tips off and cleaned them. I'm sure it's the first time in 16 years! They were so disgusting.

Used Bar Keepers Friend and a green scrubby pad, and LOTS and LOTS of scrubbing!

Im usually not a big fan of upgraded wheels on a C4S but I must admit this model really makes you think the 996 is 'recent'.
Most people are surprised when I tell them my stock C4S is an 02'... imagine with theses wheels.

Look really good.

I got it inspected. (That includes emissions)
Now I can swap out the cats for my Fabspeed catless x-pipe.
Next inspection will be due 11/30/2020.

I also dropped off my headlights to have the headlight covers re-painted to match.
So I now I'll look like a "regular" 996.2 until they're finished middle of next week.

These are being repainted: (They're close, but NOT close enough)

Prepped for a German car show tomorrow in Boerne Texas, cleaned the door hinge areas, gas cap area, and engine with 303. Looks fantastic!

I'll post some pics tomorrow night and let you know how I did. I'll be competing against Mercedes, BMW's, and VW's, and a few other Porsches.

Default Tire balance and wheel straightening.

A few weeks back I was driving down the interstate at a brisk pace and would occasionally get a slight vibration or shimmying in the steering wheel. Last week I took the car in to have the tires balance and gat called into the shop and the tech showed me my bent rim(s) Both passenger side rims had flat spots! Today I was able to get the front wheel straightened and when I took the car out this evening I could tell a big difference. Nice and smooth. Will have the rear wheel straightened next week as well.

Thanks for the kind words! And I agree — OEM hollow spokes are great, so most aftermarket options are a lateral move at best. Unfortunately my car had 19” 997 Carerra classics on it when I bought it. They were also bent and NB fitment so they got tossed in favor of some black Forgestar 19’s. But a Rennlist member screwed me as they were not straight and not fixable. Didn’t know that until I had sourced new rubber at all 4 corners. So, I bought these new to use until my tires are done and then I had planned to find oem hollow spokes. Thing is, these look a lot better than I had anticipated, so I’m in no rush to buy a third set of wheels for the car, lol. And yes, I think these give the car a bit more of a current look to it.

The car was due for an oil change so I also did the oil pressure relief upgrade that I read about here.

The 'upgrade' looks like the original except the new piston has a chamfer on the end.

The old oil looked pretty good.

The drain plug magnet looked good and after cutting open the filter, the pleats looked clean too.

Oil sample for Blackstone.

Fresh oil. Nothing but the best for my baby.

I've been meaning to relocate the emergency engine compartment release to the bottom edge of the taillight and finally did it today.

I moved it further outboard after that^ picture was taken. I put a dental pick in the door pocket so I have something to grab it with.

Great stuff! But watch, somebody's going to criticize your choice.

That's the way it is with oil posts (and it doesn't matter how right you might be).

I know oil is always a controversial topic but I'm one of those guys who thinks being fanatical about changing it every 5-6 years is more important than any particular brand.
