What did you do to your 996 today?

After several months of very slowly refreshing my C2 I started it up for the first time. 🎉
...CSF radiators, every coolant hose, coolant tank, thermostat, fuel injectors, fuel filter, transmission mount, alternator, starter, UAOS with auto-drain, new sensors, inspected for bore scoring from the sump, and replaced every gasket I could manage without dropping the engine (saving that for when I need to do clutch, IMS, and RMS)

The driver side vent slats wouldn't move up or down as the comb looking plastic pieces that connects all the slats internally was loose. Took the vent out and fixed it this weekend and also took care of all the loose black foam.

Had another wheel bearing start to fail. Found it while doing my inspection cause i have a 3 dayer at njmp with DelawarePCA this weekend. Also got an engine, trans and brake fluid swap done. I should be good till the end of the season. Somehow i still have 10 more days in track.

@freddworks I really want to install a set of those rings, it looks really simple to do and freshens it up

Change the rear wheel bearings ever 4200 track miles and the front wheel bearings every 8400 track miles

Yea, Porsche has a "Track Maintenance Schedule" about wheel bearings/hubs for Gt3 . Since yours is now GT3'ish you may want to follow the recommended schedule here..
Change the rear wheel bearings ever 4200 track miles and the front wheel bearings every 8400 track miles
Change the rear wheel bearings ever 4200 track miles and the front wheel bearings every 8400 track miles
That document is meant for centerlock wheel cars as the gt3 version is different then the cup centerlocks and not as robust. Either way im probably gonna swap them about every 2-2.5k track miles so im hoping that will be good.

Yes I think that is an excellent plan. I think that when wheel bearings into that environment they are a maintenance item and are no longer a lifetime item.

Tuesday. Took my mom to YHZ Halifax, it's about a2 hour drive. She's visiting family including the great grandkids, in St. Catherine Ontario for a week.
about 30 minutes into the drive I got a CEL. Car ran fine there and back. Parked it with cel.
Wednesday I went for a drive to run errands in Digby, and took my usual back road route through Bear River. CEL still on, but ODB reader plugged in. Ran errands, gassed up (91 is all we can get here, she's used to 93 in NC) and headed home. Coming through and off the new roundabout and merging onto 101 I held it in second and gassed it, up to about 6k rpm and then did the same in 3rd. Not only was the sound glorious, but moments later the CEL went off, and stayed off. I did a quick Google search, it looks like O2 sensor fouling maybe? Any tips for the mechanically deprived? Maybe I'm just not driving it hard enough. Certainly with Mom in the car I was taking it easy and keeping revs around or below 3k on the highway to Halifax. Just needs to be driven harder?
From Android ODBlink.
Scanned before driving on Wed. Also, I did not clear the codes, as the app warned me against doing so with the engine running. As mentioned above, they cleared on their own while driving. What is the right way to clear codes?
