As it happens, I installed a new shift **** today (Raceseng Hydro in translucent smoke) and though it awesomes up the previously crappy shifts on my short shifter, it does not look right because it is too brown. But it would look amazing on your car! Wanna buy it? 😅
Actually that does look great! I was thinking something along the lines of this. Depends on price, and if you are willing to ship to Cyprus in Europe, and how much that would cost

I have no idea! If I cannot exchange it with Raceseng I will investigate.
Completed a quick polish and wax, nothing fancy but came out nicely for the products used and time invested.
need to do this more often and buy better Wax or maybe ceramic coating.
Also I need to get a standard bumper or a .1 aero one! Cant stand this fiberglass one!
ok, I give up - what color is this ?
appears to be metallic brown
or
is it black picking up reflected color ?
or
just a trick of the light ?

Imagine my surprise when I got it and thought it was black metallic and after I parked in my garage it looked more like a brown car, looks similar to cola. It's a colour found on 993s and some early 996s
Track update: this is fun, why didn't anyone tell me? The 986 is a blast on the track. I got progressively faster as the day went on with close to 2 hours of seat time. I think I can finally start learning how to speed up. It's cool making these beast cars do their best in their natural environment.
I bought my 996 a companion so it won't be lonely...

Hell yeah @sasilverbullet - Hopefully I'll see you at a PCA or Track day this fall/next spring. Also, it is not lost on me that you are standing in an air conditioned garage. Your german babies have it so good!!!
I flogged the **** out of my 986 today and look forward to doing so again tomorrow. My biggest takeaway today is that I want to upgrade my brakes - they seemed to get a bit mushy after 5 laps or so. I'll plan out new fluid, pads/rotors but probably need a track set and a street set going forward. I'm happy and confident with my tires so far - Continental SureContact whatevers have plenty of grip once I warm them up. The motor sends it... so i don't need more power for the time being. A suspension refresh is a distant consideration, but I want to stay stock given that this is my daily. (kinda rambling here).
I'll be interested to start logging oil temps once I get @Coopduc 's oil sensor installed.
What is my easiest overall data collection option for the car? I suspect it's just old enough to be kinda manual.
