It looks so innocent sitting there all comfortable, waiting for everything to be hooked up. Like “I don’t know what all that cursing was about, plug me up and let’s go, easy peasy!” Meanwhile I feel like I’ve just survived some initiation rite.
Installed a Function First metal shift **** and a aftermarket black leather shift boot with red stitching . I am slowly going to add some red touches to break down the sea of grey . The shift boot was made by KBH and purchased off Amazon . Nice fit/feel and made in the US . I am happy with both mods .
I have the black Delrin version.
I was worried about the metal shift **** getting too hot during the summer down here.
It's one of my favorite mods, and will likely be done in my next 996/986 too.

Do you have a link to the Amazon boot? I can’t seem to find it. Thanks
I dropped off the C4 to the body shop this afternoon . Front trunk lid has two dents and some chips . Front bumper has a crease and some crazing . Both will be repaired and painted black .
Also dropped off a Better Bodies/GT3TEK GT3 style spoiler lip and rear diffuser . Both will also be painted black and installed by the shop . This will add to the look with my rear ducktail spoiler . Will post pics when I get her back .
I also got this **** and need to get a new boot. Did you cut the KBH boot to fit the FF ****? or was it precut? Can you take a picture of that interface between the **** and the boot?

I didn't cut anything on the new boot . The FF **** I installed is two pieces . A shaft adapter and the **** . That shaft adapter is pretty large in diameter . I glued the shifter boot to the original shifter frame . Let that dry overnight . I installed the FF shifter adapter then slid the new boot and frame over it . Fairly snug fit . Snapped the frame into the shift console and screwed on the new **** . Done
Sorry I can't take a pic as my car is at the body shop . I like the way it looks , to me it is clean and finished looking . But everyone has different tastes so you may disagree .
Replaced my rear springs, height on one side was 5mm lower that the other. Now they're even and about 10mm higher than before. My indie said the old/new springs looked the same height, so it must have been that they lost some of their spring. They were the original ones with the car. Now the car seems "right".
Yesterday - put an engine in it for the first time in months... Feels good. But... Can't get used to it, will be coming out as soon as I get my lines routed.
