@EVOMMM I had the bumper off and cleaned them last spring. it's been a year but I've only put 3k miles on since. For maybe half of those I had the grills in. So I'm assuming they're clean. I'm going to put them on again.
I haven't noticed an increase in engine temps for me since I installed the grill but good to know, I'll definitely pay attention to it more to see if anything changes.

I've had mine on for over a year here in south Texas, driving in traffic, temps over 106, never any issue.
If I'm not mistaken the problem is if your going over 135, that's when the mesh and air flow start getting wonky.
In the meantime, I'd rather have the protection. My grills stopped an over 1.5 inch rock from going in, I had to replace the grill because it was so bent, but it kept the rock from hitting the A/C condenser.
My 996 trunk and engine bay light were both out . Swapped a bulb from my Boxster into both and they worked . But as we all know they get blistering hot 😡 . Ordered four LED bulbs from Amazon and installed them in both cars . Nice bright white and cool to the touch . Best part four bulbs delivered to my door for less than 8 bucks ! They even have little heat sinks on them .

I added a license plate frame WiFi backup camera. It's well made and the kit is very complete. The camera covers 170 degrees but doesn't give me the view I had hoped for - possibly because the license plate area is recessed. I find backing out of parking spaces from between SUVs to be challenging since many people think that parking lots are racetracks. The camera on my wife's Subaru Forester shows cars coming from both directions and that's what I was hoping for with this one.
Replaced my headlight switch. Was having to jiggle it and it was still flickering. The TRQ brand was $55 on Amazon vs $155 for Porsche part. Very easy to do thanks to youtuber's vids, only about 20 min. Have heard of the dealer charging ~$400. Screws are a T20.
Installed a Function First metal shift **** and a aftermarket black leather shift boot with red stitching . I am slowly going to add some red touches to break down the sea of grey . The shift boot was made by KBH and purchased off Amazon . Nice fit/feel and made in the US . I am happy with both mods .
Found this gem 01 PTS Ocean Blue Metallic C4 with sport seats last week at a local Honda dealer! 75k miles.
I was very happy when I put it up on jacks and pulled the wheels off to find about $4k worth of Tarett, elephant, and Rennline suspension.
Nice to have another 996 after at least 15 something Boxsters.
What a relief it will be to be able to put my seat back far enough to be comfortable on longer trips.
This one needed "the worx." All easy stuff. Luckily had IMS and Clutch done last year at Porsche, glad I didn't have to pay that one (or do it myself).
The list:
1. replaced broken cupholders (01 style)
2. replaced pas. window regulator
3. sent out dash to have pixels repaired
4. replaced oil pressure switch
5. replaced both side door locks (no window drop)
6. ordered missing rear seat backs (still working on obtaining the hardware)
7. replace windshield cowl
8. replace rear tires (they were 9 years old, fronts new).
9. bleed brakes and clutch
10. order windshield gaskets- windshield will have to come out to fix the right way
11. proper alignment, car handles like a truck with 0 degrees front negative camber
12. mod the mufflers for moar noise.
13. fix roof "rail" gasket on pas. side.
14. Install our "RS" engine mount upgrade.
15. Install new version of Rennline phone mount.
16. Clean all the old wheel tape off inside of wheels.
17. Put cubby where CD holder was.
I have about half of the above work done, ironically I'm waiting on parts! Can't wait to drive.
L999 = PTS, although I understand Ocean Blue Metallic was a standard color in 99-00.

Any chance you have a link for that switch at Amazon? Not finding it.
