I don't know if any of you know but is there a way to find the exact color of a 996 by using the VIN number? I'm looking at one out in Arizona and he doesn't know the color of blue that is on it and the sticker under the frunk is missing.

If the option sticker is missing I'm guessing the owners manual is too, but there should be a full list of options including color in there. Also, if you post up a picture and give the year we can probably tell you the color. You can also look at Rennbow for all the color options for that year and see if you can't figure it out yourself.
Fantastic work on the console by the way! I'm thinking about painting mine and it'd be great if you shared your process/some pointers, as yours came out really great.
Decided on metallic green for my hub emblems. It's not a match with my body color but close enough for me. I bought anodized aluminum in various colors and settled on this. Funny thing - I save everything related to my car (except for plugs, filters, etc). I was going to look for a wire hanger to make a tool to pull off the caps. I figured I'd look in my parts bin just in case I still had the one I made 12 years ago. Found it.
