@NYPOWR4 - Yours is different than the others that have been posted. You have a double sail or baffle it looks like.

I jacked the front up to take a look at the steering rack to get the part number to order some front suspension components.

I was lowering it when the right side slipped off the jack stand and wound up landing on and crimping this line to the inside of the car. Anyone know what it is?

I have no idea how it slipped off. I was using a jacking point adapter and it was square on the stand. The adapter wound up about 10 feet away.

How screwed am I?

Its a ac refrigerant line. Have the system pumped down, trace the line foward and back and disco at the flangs.

Will have to remove the fender liner.

Thanks for the feedback. AC refrigerant line...just my luck, in the desert, during summer...

On an unrelated note, I just added the new AI component to my PCM, and it started to complain over the weekend due to the heat...

I replaced both the inner and outer door sills with new ones from rose passion. Old ones were peeling layers of plastic all over the place. Really happy to have it all clean again.

At least you can 😂. So you were on the stands. Did you have metal to metal or do you use the puck things that add some stability? I'm in constant fear of jackstands.... Need a garage and a lift by gum.

What else are you gonna do?

I was using puck-apapters, but my jack stands are cupped. It must not have been in the cup, though I swear it was when I went around back.

Either way, that's the last time using those stands. New, flat-topped stands are on their way.

j_bird - Sorry you had that **** puckering event, but glad no serious harm. I recommend lift bars with flat top stands for the future. So much cheaper than hydraulics and super solid, taking only a couple minutes a side to put car up.

Can you recommend lift bars? I hadn't considered them, because the ones I looked at were designed for the u shaped jackstands, and I have flat top ESCO 3 tons. I've been jacking my car up by the end of the stressed member that runs side to side in front of the engine, and then placing jackstands at the jack point. I hope I'm not bending anything, sure seems ok. My low profile back just squeezes in on an angle behind the rear wheel...
Edit.... If it looks like you can get ESCO axle stand adaptors...
https://liftbars.com/ need these ...

I am sorry this happened to you, but for future reference and for anyone else reading this cupped jack stands and lift pucks are a big no-no. You are best off with flat tops and pucks like you ordered, but if all you have is cupped stands you are better off carefully lowering the jack point onto the cupped stand than mixing a cupped stand with a lift puck.

Sorry to hear about this. I'm not sure what you mean by "puck adapters" -- were they the kind that lock into place like the ones below? It's worth getting locking pucks if you don't have them already.

I agree that those are great, but I doubt they would have solved his problem. Those aren't meant to be used with cupped stands. Even the manufacturer warns against it. for your floor jack, flat stands. or lift they are hard to beat though.
