This morning I drove the 996 to a Cars & Coffee event near the coast in NH. I saw plenty of eye candy (of the car variety) and talked to a guy who has a 95 993 that he bought nearly 20 years ago. I met an older gentleman while drooling over a real AC Cobra who ferries dealer and customer cars in MA and NH for a Porsche dealer by the coast. While he drives lots of Macans he still gets to drive plenty of 911s back and forth. That's the job I want when I retire!

All told, I drove about 100 miles, nice and cool with the A/C blasting. The cops sit not too far from the exit to the mall and nab people for speeding. It's too easy to get jacked up from looking at all of the cars and go blasting out of there.

Sorry, no pictures to post. I was too busy looking at cars than staring at them though my phone.

So shipping from the UK isn't too expensive?

I'll contact Simon, thanks!

Not today, but on Friday I replaced some front suspension components.

Shout out to Dan (Porsches4all) for his superior jacking point lift pucks. Those combined with the new Esco jack stands helped avoid a repeat performance of Tia falling off of her jack stands.

Feels (literally) great to get rid of the clunking from the worn tie rod ends and lower control arms.

Can anyone recommend a good creeper? My back tells me I'm too old to scamper under the car on bare cement...

Replaced the missle launcher...

With this.

And then drove it to Cars & Coffee.

As usual, I was the only 996 there.

It wasn't too bad considering the craftsmanship and how light it is, box didn't weight much.

I'm impressed! That was a pretty obscure reference.

Washed her up! Also installed the GT3 996.2 lip and Rennline tow hook. Then took her downtown.
The wheels are going up sale since I just bought CCW C14s.

Picked my car up from the body shop!

By the way the other cars were parked the wrong direction.

It has been a very interesting experience. The accident was 100% the other drivers fault and they admitted that to the insurance company, but the insurance company has been refusing to pay the actual cost to fix my car and was constantly trying to pull my rental car. I have spent well over 20 hours on the phone with them over the last 3 weeks and we are still fighting over payment. I got my insurance company involved now and may need to get a lawyer. The body shop on the other hand was incredible. Fantastic work and one of the best customer service experiences I have ever had in my life.

I hope you are able to share the name of said insurance company at some point. Yes/No??
