Put in a red tach overlay at lunch today. Was very easy to do and turned out great. My only tip is to use an LED flashlight to line up the numbers. Easier than trying to do it in the car.

Where did you get the overlay from? I've been thinking about doing this. Any pics while lit at night?

I got them off flebay for $60. Figured if I didn't like it I would just pull it back off. Turned out really nice. No pics at night yet, just got it done.

They came as a set so I have some extras if you want to do all the rest of your gauges in red and leave the tach black. LOL

Just purchased mine. Had it delivered over the weekend. This is my first venture into Porsche ownership and wanted to start with a 996.

Need to get some additional pictures of it but so far so good! Love the spec. Only have about 50 miles of driving on it. IMS and clutch have been done and the car has an incredibly detailed service history. Big shout out to Udrive Automobiles for everything. I'll use some of their pics for now

I do have an engine light that popped up and will diag that code tonight to see what it is.

If I were a betting man, I'd wager cam shaft deviation.

Or the gas cap isn't closed...

I’m a novice wrench. I started by replacing my front drop links. That went well, I got some hands on familiarity with the suspension and gave me the confidence to keep wrenching. I’m going to do the front sway bar bushings next. After that, the coffin arm and tuning fork links.

When it’s time for shocks and springs I may take that to a shop. We’ll see.

Also, is there anything special about Porsche suspensions that requires a Porsche indy to do it?

Also, what are the winning Lotto numbers for next week's drawing?

I think you need to decide based upon what you want to do with the car. Mines an 03 cab with a tiptronic trans so I'm not really track focused. I want to keep it mostly stock with a few changes along the way. It's far and away the best handling car I've ever owned as it is. I don't want to add any additional noise or vibration if I don't have to. Exhaust is still under consideration. I remember the poly bushings I put into my 71 cuda years ago ago and the creaks and squeaks it introduced. If it adds longevity without noise, I'd be up for it. So far so good with the Rein motor mounts. Haven't looked at the trans mount yet. The rest of the rubber components, I'll look at next year.

Looks great. Would you mind saying more about the method used to paint the console?

We've taken our cab to Hampton a couple of times this summer. Once lately to see the sand sculptures. I've been to the top of Mt Washington once and my wife and I were talking about doing it it the cab, though she wasn't as enthusiastic about it as I was. We took it to dinner in Center Harbor Sunday night to Canoe for dinner.
