Alignment after 200 miles on new front tires. Hankook Ventus V12's.
They used the wrong spec set. This car is not a 4. But the only difference I could find between the sets of specs was the turning angle difference, which they didn't measure.
Next step, Ohlins or Feals. And maybe a new shifter.

All is good. Keep driving!
Ohlins are probably the best (I’ve never personally tried them) but Feal is great bang for the buck!
I just need to swap the shields on 3 more and wash the car.
YESSS! I’m the complete opposite... I have all black painted center caps with a two tone hood crest. That’s actually why I swap that out after a few days. I wanted some differentiation. But no more colored hood crests anywhere.
Wife looks at car and says it's missing one of those chrome plated caps on the driver's side headlights. Yup, you're right, took me a while to figure out what it was. Still getting used what this has for options. Has the headlight washer option, so I ordered a new assembly. Suppose I could have just found the chrome part someplace, but figured I'd start new.
Had the car for two years now, bled the brakes yesterday with my new Motiv Brake Bleeder. Have no clue how long that fluid was in there. Get the Motiv #0109, it comes with the correct adapter for our cars. See Pic.
Here's a pic of the different colors of fluid I extracted:
1. Reservoir - sucked that out with a turkey baster before bleeding
2. Back brakes - have no idea why it was green!
3. Front brakes - there was some air in them
4. New stuff - for comparison, this is the new stuff
5. Pentosin Super DOT 4 is what I put in, ordered from the amazonians.
Decided to check my tiptronic engine mount yesterday, YIKES!!! TOTALLY SHOT!!! I'm hoping that this is the culprit for the "grinding noise" when I apply power in a turn.
Porsche dealer in Plano Tx had one, they FedEx'd it to me. Will be here Tuesday morning. Great experience with Roger Reynolds in the parts dept. He boxed it up for free, of course I paid for the FedEx. They are a big dealership and were the only ones in Texas with that mount in stock. Porsche dealer in San Antonio quoted me $399, Austin $360, Plano was only $316! I'm calling them from now on! Oh, quick aside, the Austin Porsche dealer is about to move to a huge new facility! The parts guy there said that they will be stocking a lot more because of the bigger facility.
I'll pull the old one out tomorrow, prep it for the install Tuesday. I'll post some pics of the removal.
Here's pics of the old one: Drivers side Drivers side Passenger side Passenger side

Nice! The green is really old. Likely due to water absorption(the reason to change it out). I had the same greenish color in my entire system. I would interpret this as your front brakes having been bled more recently. I also had some air in the front left. Not much, but it was there. I didn't have a spongy pedal, so I figured it might have been a leak right at the bleeder screw. Mine was so green I'm thinking about replacing at one year, just to make sure any residual 17 year old fluid is out.
Took my 2000 C4 Cab on a drive for the 1st time after purchasing/driving a new (to me) 2014 Corvette Z51 Stringray Convertible (LT1/3LT) this past week and, I'm sorry, but I've decided that I'm going to sell the 996.
Just don't need both. The Vette is 14 years newer w/only 30k (vs 90k) miles on the ODO and has every option you could possibly want in a high performance sports car. They are both the same color and I don't need/want 2 silver cars.
I still like the 911 but it now seems slow and dated when compared to the Vette . Although the 911 is all sorted now, I still worry that something "really bad" is going to happen to the engine that will require big bucks to repair and I just don't want to worry about that anymore.
Should be able to get most (if not all) of my $ out of the 911 and use it to pay off the small loan that I took out on the Vette. I also need the garage space for my BMW and I have an MR2 Spyder for back up if the Vette ever goes down for repairs.
Anyway these are my "reasons" for the decision. Check CL in the SFBA for a listing coming soon.
Yesterday I posted I was ready to gut the rear of the car but I was too lazy to take the seats out (I hate messing with seats)...today I compromised with my self and pulled A seat and got a lot more weight pulled out. I painted the ECU and fuse tray black because the unfinished stamped steel was offensive (keep in mind, this is coming from a guy who guts his Porsche...loopy). I should have really done all this prior to putting the cage in because working around it was a huge PIA, I'm too old to contort like that, good thing nobody was watching.
I don't have anything handy to weigh all this awkward **** that came out so not sure I can pass along - guesstimate is 40-50 LBS.
Last time the car was on the scales it weighed 3008 LBS with half tank of gas.
Since then I have:
Removed passenger seat and replaced with bucket - Hoping -20 LBS
Removed stock battery and replaced with rennline bracket and a PC680 - Hoping - 25 LBS
Removed Amp, all speakers, head unit and gutted frunk - Weighed -30 LBS
Gutted everything behind driver - Hoping - 45 LBS
Added LN deep sump and skid plate. - Prob added call it 10 LBS
