It just dawned on me that the language is, "free oil & filter change for life of car". It kind of seems like I should be getting free oil changes too.

That is an interesting point....I lived in Dallas for 21 years before moving here in the NW. While in Texas, all of my cars were beige or light gray interiors. Now almost all of the cars I have owned are black interiors. Somewhere along the line I made that subconscious change and never knew why...maybe this is why.

The nice thing with silver is the color will always be loved....SY is more trendy and will likely fall in and out of favor over time. Sort of like my Sand Beige 912...its an ugly color in my view but certainly had followers in its day.

I like SY so much better....RY seems paler to me....I love the depth of SY.

After completing a rigorous pre-drive checklist (I checked the oil level and chucked a gallon of distilled water behind the passenger seat), I logged 200+ miles in the 996 yesterday. I started in San Diego, headed up to Julian for breakfast, and then ripped down into Borrego for a couple of hours of tomfoolery. Ambient air temp was right about 100 degrees; it was nice to get a hard thrash on the car after working on the cooling system to confirm that everything is back at 100%.

I’m forced to defend arctic silver, especially for the c4s model. Big fan of SY and guards red for c2 but this rear end shines in silver.

Small world. I also planned to drive to Julian on Sunday. I had my house carpets cleaned on Friday with the expectation that I would put all the furniture back on Saturday. Unfortunately though, I ended up having to wait until Sunday for them to be completely dry. I didn't, however, have any plans to go to the desert floor. I'll admit that I'm turning into a heat wuss in my old age.

My old '70 911T left the factory with 'Silver Metallic' 39 years ago and it looks like it was an additional cost option back then too. At least Porsche is consistent.

Found my new favourite road 😄
Pretty small road without intersections, full of tight turns and hills, while still having pretty good visibility all the time.

You know, I couldn't sleep last night after watching that. Bad images floating around my head.

Using a Planted seat adapter bracket, very nice product, mounted my old Konig SP700 Seat. Heading to the track next week and it nets me about an inch of valuable head room. Carpet cleaner still damp.😎
