ok your C4S will destroy any C2S still doesn't mean the market values it higher than a C2S..Like i said i love them both, were not arguing which is the better car, just talking about market values..but maybe you're more in tune with the market.

So... listen... been in this business for 25+ years.... I know of and I am sure like you ... Private Sales of these cars recently C4S and C2S trading hands over $150k .... I have seen your listings I get it... again miles, condition, records etc.... let’s just say ... current market conditions seem neck and neck. I will still argue to the death that the C4S is a better car when set up properly from a N/A engine.

I don't think it's a mystery why some 993s may feel livelier than others. The difference that comes with replacing worn out rubber and getting a proper alignment and sorted suspension makes an enormous difference, never mind the motor - plugs, wires, distributor, engine seal, it goes on and on. It is virtually impossible to compare like to like with two different cars.

This thread is just becoming Gbos1 vs. THE WHOLE WORLD.

This is Gbos1 in real life when anyone dares to whisper sacrilege about the C4S:

challenge accepted. 😂. Regardless of your car and comment. C2S’s have always commanded more than a C4S. Rarity and uniqueness, someone stated that the NB cars handle better, this is true as they are more balanced and lighter from the factory. And awesome how these cars are really coming back strong in the market.

It’s all good ... the 993 Platform is still the best 911 ever made period!

Literally has nothing to do with the consensus of C2S vs. C4S value, but cool flex bro.

And also the only Widebody RWD 993. Is being an NA version of a Turbo, but without the added power yet all of the added complexity and weight supposed to be better? Nope, didn't think so.

Someone with more first hand knowledge of widebody sales than anyone in this thread chimes in and now he is challenging Tarek to a race? Hilarious. Now your car will "destroy" any 2 wheel 993? So now its about performance I guess. Trust me when I tell you if speed is a priority a 993 is literally the last place one needs to be looking lmao!

Gbos1 please don’t take personal, for sure you have a beautiful 4S. Just accept the fact that the 2S has more value due to less # produced, less weight, drivers feel, stunning style rear deck + fewer for sale + most 2S are not modded.

If a car needs 60k worth of mods to be set up right, then I'm not so sure it's that great to begin with. Never driven a NB c2 but I would argue that the WB C2 may offset the extra weight over a NB due to the wider tires that it has over the NB. Also, I dont think the 993 was the best 911 platform ever. If you're in socal, I'll take up ur challenge.

For what it is worth, here is what I see having sold literally hundreds of 993's over the past 20 years and having been a 993 owner for more than 20:
  • The VAST majority of people I talk to are primarily motivated by the "wide-body" factor more than 2S vs 4S, meaning they view them somewhat interchangeably as either configuration gets them their primary goal which is the large rear hips.
  • With that said I do find the majority of people say some form of this "I am looking for a WB 993 coupe, my first preference is a 2S but I would also buy a 4S". So what this tells me is the preference skews 2S vs. 4S, but generally given the right spec, miles, condition, color, etc MOST (but not all) people will jump on either configuration.
  • If you had two comparable (which almost never happens due to so much variance car to car...) 2S & 4S cars, the 2S car would bring slightly more money and draw more interest.
  • The market for either model is so strong that we are really arguing silliness here, IF you own a WB 993 of either configuration, consider yourself lucky!
A few other notable points:
  • Human nature says most people will argue that whatever they have is somehow the superior configuration.
  • This argument has been ongoing since the 2S debut'd in 1997. The argument will never end as it is subjective on which is "best". I do think the case is more clear that the market currently values the 2S slightly over the 4S.
  • Not everyone is in either camp. Me personally? I am a narrow body, 1995 Coupe, fan... I have owned several WB cars over the years, but just personally prefer the NB. Does that make me think my car is worth more because I prefer it? Nope! Do I care? Nope! Ultimately buy what YOU love and enjoy, who cares what someone else thinks of your choice if it works for you. There is a reason Porsche offered multiple configurations, they know that not everyone prizes the same things! Any 993 is a great car!

I’m waiting for the vicious debate on seatbelt and gauge color coordination. Sure to be a bloodbath.
