If a 993 C2S with 65k miles and accident history can sell at auction for $135k, I don't see why a Turbo variant wouldn't fetch considerably more even with long miles.

But maybe I'm missing something from the equation.

What your missing is a C2S is a much rarer car than the Turbo..... 3,714 world wide produced only....... to the Turbo of 5,917 world wide.... heck look at the 4S Auction prices with fees they are $140k! Turbo prices actually have been coming down if you have been following the recent sold prices.

Interesting.

As much as I love my C2S... I would swap it in a minute for a matched quality Turbo.
At least I think I would.

As an update to my Hagerty discussion if anybody is interested.

They are saying my comps are mostly C4S. But that is what is being sold now, primarily.

Tried to explain C2S are more desirable, less produced, less in North America.

If C2S is more desirable and rarer, it stands to reason it would sell for more than a C4S. Plus the 97-98 vs 96 MY. Therefore C4S wolds should substantiate my C2S valuation.

Sent them this recent 96 C4S sold.

Will see what happens. Thought Hagerty is supposed to know the market and have great expertise.

I just asked for a % increase since my last documented appraisal and was approved for a 20% bump no new data required

C4S is more desirable than a C2S .... C2S is nothing but a C2 with a Widebody on it and nothing special as the C4S was most based off the Turbo with AWD, Big Reds, Turbo ABS System and Suspension. Current Auction prices have told the real story as of late.

That's because most of the cars being auctioned in recent weeks are 4S. As it pertains to pcarmarket and bat listings.

There were a few 2S cars that sold a few weeks ago for less money... Miles, Condition etc are everything dictating price.

I must have missed them?

I see one in April and one in March. There was one this week that didn't sell or bid past $90k on pcar.

Yes miles and condition are important. But that also proves false recently, seems people don't care these days.

When I bought my car I was looking for the best condition WB in Arena Red. I never had any intention of doing a fraction of the stuff I've done so far. It's been a process, but the flip side is I've made it exactly what I want it to be.

Silver lining is it's a Turbo chassis with big red brakes in a RWD, NA package.

Of course, if I bought this car today the damn thing would have cost $150k and I never would have been able to justify modifying it. Which would have been a shame. That's the downside of these insane valuations.
