Show them this: https://www.classic.com/m/porsche/91...s/?interval=6m

Last 3 months for C4S the average price is $120K, 11 sales total. The low was a 100k mile example in UK going for $97K and 4-5 have sold in the 140K range including BAT/PCAR fees.

Thanks. I took a look at the link and the aggregate for C2S. I may not provide this as it gives too much information, in terms of providing old details that impact the average. The market has exploded I would say Feb 2021 onwards. I realize you can filter for 3 months.

I put it in my document for now. I already had the 2021 pcar/bat sales in my doc for 4S and 2S.

I am also thinking to wait until the auctions close on the current pcar/bat listings.

No prob. Yes, you're going to get a good comp on the C2S on pcar in a few hours.

i requested the same from Hagerty and they simply asked for updated photos from me. it's entirely possible that you might be asking for a higher value than me, though.

They asked for a photo first, I provide a nice one..haha. Then got a request this morning for market data and an appraisal. I am asking $209k CAD. This is based on a $140k USD car + currency exchange, import duty and sales tax.

wow! so, in US coin, you're asking for $173k - which includes the import fees and sales tax?? i'm not surprised they're asking you for more info at that valuation.
i am also raising the value on my GT3, which came from canada, but i didn't consider including any of those costs into my value. import fees and taxes are simply a cost of ownership.
even at $169 CAD, they'd probably ask for comps. you're at the high end of the market, so the car needs to warrant that valuation.

Here they ask for value after taxes. That's the replacement cost. I would rather not be out of pocket for duty and sales tax (6.1% and 13% (on car cost + duty)). Transportation, brokerage, inspections I would say are cost of ownership. Duty and sales tax is acquisition cost directly tied to buying the vehicle, mandated by our fine government.

They have a current valuation based on my purchase price plus all that I mentioned.

13% sales tax? ouch!!

at least they place the value 'after taxes' in that case.

Yeah Fed and Prov government combined. Our Fed Gov released their budget and are proposing a Luxury Tax starting Jan 1, 2022 on new cars over $100k. Likely to pass due to current political climate. Whichever is the lesser, 10% of purchase price or 20% of differential between $100K and selling price. Sales tax of 13% in the case of Ontario would apply on the price after luxury tax is factored. It's a political optics based strategy rather than raising real tax dollars to make a difference (assuming it's spent well).

Ok this is a long thread so maybe I missed it. What about the 993 C2 Cab. I’ve detailed a couple of coupes recently and have the itch now. I’m thinking of getting a C2 Cab to be my 10th Porsche. They are still reasonably affordable and I want to get one to enjoy before the prices get too high. Since I’m just learning about the 993 is a Cab a purchase I will regret? Thanks.

I recently acquired my 98 C2 Cab for $55k. Originally was looking for Coupe but came across a very clean 50k mile black cab. Still a blast to drive, i dont mind the Cab, no tracking, just weekend driving.
