Tarek just listed one today $160 and you can see he listed a c4s yesterday $135
adjusting for the followings (conservative estimate):
- Hardback $7000
- carbon interior $3000
- mileage $5000
- classic radio $1000
- year & condition $5000
- Steering Wheel $1000
Total $22,000
That would put the C2S within $3k of the C4S..
A good percentage of C4S was MY96, vs all C2S were all 97/98. Taken as an average, C2S would appear to be at a premium. but is it really?
Just stating the facts.

Reason: typo
The general direction will always hold true, just that I don't expect to see a WB with up to 200k on odo going for under $60k anymore, unless it's a serious project car or high mileage tippy.

I bought my '98 for $89 @43k miles. This graph almost perfect bisects that data point. Of course, now that same car would probably be +$40 to 50k.
Delta between C2s and C4s on this graph is ~$10k. I think the closer these overall numbers get to $200k, the tighter the valuations between a C4S and C2S may become, but that's just a hunch.
Its laughable to even say the C4S is "more desirable" , The C2S is the rarer & more sought after car, and always commands a higher premium. Sure C4S has the Turbo parts but its not the more desirable car. Also that Black C2S that sold for $135 on BaT was 2 months ago rite at the beginning of the price hike, and would now probably sell for $150 at least even with accident , as for the C2S on Pcar that thing didn't have the proper look or color combo. Its pretty easy to find a C4S, but a C2S is very hard to find and always commands more money.
here are some C2S on market , I also think chequered flag has one for $170 , Tarek just listed one today $160 and you can see he listed a c4s yesterday $135, the C2S is always going to command more money, that’s a fact
You can ask all you want for something but that doesn’t mean squat in the car world vs real auction sold price. I know of privately sold C4Ss above the $150k Mark. So many factors here like color, miles, condition, maintenance records etc ... to me personally, and is subjective to the individual buyer ... a C4S with Aero Kit II lower mile is way more desirable than a C2S will ever be.... to me the C2S isn’t that special over the C4S other than WB shell and split grille, RWD and a little lighter... I have driven both and there isn’t a whole lot of difference other than the 4S is way more planted in the twisties which is a big plus. So what if less were produced! So was the Carrera 4 which only 2,884 coupes were produced WW and their values are unchanged..... future values will dictate.
I’m sorry but saying “so what there are less of them” is too funny as that is numero uno in collector car values. Remember we are talking values right now not experience. We can get into a rwd car being a better driving experience also. (I thought this too was common knowledge? *shrugs*)
another funny point is we aren’t “Rennlist members”. The guys that have had these cars for years and are dumbfounded at today’s prices. (Hats off to them)
Haha, relax yes both the 2S and 4S are good lookers, although foremost i prefer by far the lighter & more driver challenged 2S. I would love to buy another 993 coupe base manual since they are a bargain for not much longer i am afraid.
Debates about whether C2S or C4S is more valuable is futile.
Even adjusted for similar mileage, equipment and condition, it still depends on the 'eye of beholder' factor.
We don't have actual transaction prices other than auction results, and auctions can be emotional.
Hammer prices are good indicators of the general direction of the make/model's worth but not an absolute guide for minute comparisons between two closely related models of the same make.
The C4S vs. C2S argument isn't really one that needs to be stated or shilled for, because it really is just common knowledge and has an underlying acceptance. The fact that myself, and many others I know, weeded out perfectly good and enticing C4S examples to hunt out a C2S says a lot about the conviction. Is it also true the other way around, where someone specifically passed on comparable C2S examples for a less rare, AWD C4S? Maybe, but I'd wager far less so.
Regardless, these cars are both Widebodies and are siblings. The difference comes down to saying which brother is better at playing soccer and doesn't really matter.

Tarek procures and resells 993s all day. He has a good understanding of the market. My conversation with when I was in search for C2S/C4S a couple weeks ago, he stated the C2S always commanded a higher price tag
