With all the focus on the body and other damage, there has been no comment (or perhaps any work) addressing the original no-start issue. Following is a copy of my post from October 2014 regarding the same problem. Mine wasn't a sudden development since I could induce (sometimes unintentionally) the problem. Your solution may be different of course...

My car experienced crank, no start issues but there were no unusual warning lights at the same time. I could induce this condition by "bumping" the starter.

My indie shop traced it, using a scope, to a failing flywheel reference sensor. Replacing the sensor solved the problem.

Sensor voltage output, although it varied, was below spec and, sometimes, much too low to allow the car to start.
