I can easily see $60k. I'm probably $45k+ in the hole. Probably more. In fact, I'm sure it's more if I include the wheels. I've honestly stopping keeping track of the money. Things add up surprisingly quick, particularly if you use an expensive shop. Actually just ordered FDM's SSK with the wood **** to get installed this summer. It's a hobby - modding is part of the fun.

I will never sell this car. The money spent is irrelevant. I just wanted to squeeze every ounce of “Air Cooled” goodness out of it to the last drop. It’s a passion and hobby for me. The car will passed along to my daughter who is just as passionate about Porsche and Air Cooled cars as I am ....so to me, I don’t sweat it.

Honestly... 6 months ago I sat down and made a spreadsheet and started adding up all my invoices.... trust me I was shocked as well. It’s not hard to do on these cars when using mainly Porsche OEM, Porsche Classic Parts custom from Germany / OEM RS & CUP parts, quality parts in general...coupled with a great mechanic who’s Air Cooled 911 labor isn’t cheap. As the saying goes... “you gotta pay to play.”

Ludicrous! They know this is what any interested party will immediately inquire.
Yea these guys are kind of known for clapped out vehicles and not being a great place to buy from.

Best mod hands down! Feels like it added an extra 50 HP to the car no lie! Always in the power starting at 3,200 RPM through each gear... 6th is just a cruising gear like over drive. Worth every penny. Transformed the car completely.

Yes that accident history bolsters my point further. The value would be higher if sold today without an accident. The other poster was comparing this car to a C4S sold last week. Can't do that as the market has shifted. The rising tide lifted all boats. However some boats are still more valuable than others

i'd like to go back to the 'higher valuation/policy' discussion for a moment. i just got a quote for a potential new addition and it looks like i'm paying about $1 for each $114 of coverage per year (for 3 cars on that policy).

anybody doing much better than that? would certainly entertain some quotes to improve my numbers, if possible.

I'll give you credit that's a serious mod list, can't say many have done to such a degree esp a 3.8 + re-gear to GT specs!

The euro gearing is something most don't realize the TT has too.

Update for those interested.....

Hagerty has declined increasing valuation again. They said that they have a PCA member that does research and provides current market values. Which feed into their valuation database. Also again didn't seem to like C4S as a basis for C2S values.

Seems that valuation will lag the market. This was the case when I was researching cars in Dec 2020 to Jan 2021.

Is this PCA member on Rennlist? Hopefully you can come forward.

Maybe your "Haggerty" does

But no, the point is there are no public reference points for C2S sales in April or May. Last was early March, 1 car. Many C4S have been sold thereafter.

Assuming a C2S 36k miles, great condition, GR/Black would sell for $140K USD now. In my dollars after sales tax, I'm in the hole about $17K CAD on valuation.

BTW, Hagerty doesn't factor import duties. So I've removed that in my calculation above.

Does anyone have the production numbers for 993 turbos? It wouldn’t make sense for them to increase in price proportionate to how WB 993s have in the last 8 months. But then again I may be wrong.

I personally don’t think any kind of correction is coming any time soon.
