He never posted the price so not sure if the buyer wants it disclosed, you’d have to ask Tarek.

I personally am not a fan of these crazy high car prices. It makes it so much harder to own/enjoy because if you were to sell one anything else is also crazy high $$$

I love my 993 turbo, but the thought of selling it scares me now because if I ever wanted to get another it would be too expensive.

Have you guys looked at viper prices? I have a 96 GTS and wow have they gone up.

Really? Disagree completely. I'd say more than 90% of folks on here are not the original owners of these cars. Likely, its more in the attitude of the people purchasing these cars at these prices. I think its fair to say those most recent to 993 ownership are simply a different generation than those that started this site. More and more posts on values, colors, production numbers, etc..... seems more like a 991+ forum than the tech forum this site was built on. This is just my impression. There is nothing wrong with the new 993 buyers at all, don't misinterpret my comment. There just seems to be a different focus and I am happy that a newer generation of enthusiast is getting into these cars. My sincere hope is that they continue to carry the torch and maintain this technical forum as a resource to all. As more and more of the air cooled experts retire, this place will become all the more important.

Being priced out of ownership isn't a factor that I've seen. Its the condescension interpreted above by comments like these that seek to separate these newer owners vs those of old. I'd rather see the tide turn more towards working together with other local enthusiasts and really learning about these cars and helping each other out, regardless of when they bought or what they paid.

I agree. I've been teaching my teenage son to learn to drive a manual in my 4S but hesitate telling him how much it's worth as I don't want to make him even more nervous driving it.

This forum will remain tech focused out of necessity. Whether new owners like it or not - some problem solving and maintenance/repair are a part of life owning these cars.

Tarek dropped by with the car yesterday its really nice. Very clean example (I’d buy it) and very well sorted. Paint shows excellent.
it wasn’t sold first. First pic he posted was when it arrived on the transport.

i actually saw him on way back from Laguna beach before that he was driving it to grab pics and a test drive and going the other way. Car totally caught my eye and made me look. That yellow pops and looks great on the 993.

the last year or so he’s got a big following on social media and these things are in demand.

they move quick. Most of them do at least.

i do see that his IG account now acts as a preview of each car, as he often starts a post and pic with "will be coming soon" or something along those lines. as an owner of a SY, i agree that 993 was absolutely stunning.

Tarek has a secret stash of widebody 993s. He consistently has solid inventory and has definitely made a name for himself as a go-to source of well-sorted 993s!

His latest speed yellow gem got me itching to buy it! Looked so good in the pictures.

Who says people don't want yellow cars?

EDIT - These cars are getting freakishly expensive (I'm still of the camp it's not going to stay at this level, it will drop some). A $150k USD car is $230,194 CAD after currency and taxes. That's a well spec'd custom colour 992 GT3 (pretax).

Put it in perspective... 993 is the last and best iteration of the Air Cooled 911 Porsches. The best looking as most would agree. I still think they are undervalued and will continue to see these prices climb and level .. climb and level etc... Porsche isn’t going to make any more .... ever.

Yes for sure, my small tweak would be that the asking prices will drop to account for the pandemic spending on toys that is priced in. How much? I don't know, not much would be my guess, maybe $10-25k.

I mean I do enjoy the appreciation in value on my car since my purchase a few months ago, but I also want to buy another....haha. So would like to have it both ways when it suits me.

My government is also proposing a luxury tax on new cars worth more than $100k, will see how it impacts used imported cars.

Default SY makes me weak in the knees :)

Bold and unusual colors also drive pricing in collectible cars so Im sure that C4S wasn't cheap.
But gotta love Speed yellow.
