commenters with no intent on bidding, it’s ridiculous. Making a big deal out of a door strap on a $200k sale when the seller said he would pay the repair cost is nuts. He’s acting like someone painted a mustache on the Mona Lisa with non removable ink. You fix the strap, close the door, and enjoy the drive. So many silly people in this world. I think I’d put my C4S up for sale on ETSY before I deal with them.

BAT helps the buyer because it demands a lot of on-line documentation and real time vetting.
BAT helps the seller because it provides a lot of exposure and sometimes people et into a bidding war.which can drive the price up.

i doubt many negative comments would come from ignoring most of the peanut gallery questions while still being very attentive of the more serious or knowledgeable questions. the true bidders will know the difference.

He must have seen all the other 993 auctions and mentions of door straps, this car had one of the worst I've seen and it's overlooked? Might make people wonder what else was overlooked if something so obvious/common was not addressed.
They were going for all the money, should have had it repaired before photos, IMO.

You have a point I understand but also think that sellers know what people will ask for.

I know everyone thinks differently, but if I was in the market for a 993 C2S in black, I wouldn’t let a door strap repair stand between me and this 16k mile example. But that’s just how I think.

If that car was in my possession one of the first things to be done would be repairing the door check. Long before detail/paint correction/dry ice cleaning anyway. Seller states "I have had this happen on several 993's" ...but it's only revealed on this one after asked?
Not the end of the world, I just think it changed the mood a bit, going from what's presented as near perfect to later in the auction learning it can immediately go to a repair shop after wiring 200k+

I wonder if some may have thought that an unattended to door strap repair may have been indicative of a careless owner given that it happened so early in the cars life?

beckseuropean's speedo-gate comments on there are absurd.
He does PPI's and reports possible mileage fraud due to finding speedo bezels that have been removed? As if Carfax and service records don't confirm mileage records. I've removed the bezels on all my gauges twice. Once to repair faded gauge needles and gauge faces and a second time to replace the bezels themselves with brand new ones (fresh paint). By his own words, almost all 993's he looks at have had the speedo bezel removed. So, all of them surely have mileage rolled back?? (joking)
What a dumb ***. He's just looking to stir the pot and has no interest in purchasing the car.
