How much are those 4.0L Rothsport engines exactly because $230k in total mod cost on that car sounds really lofty, where the majority of the work is the powertrain. I get paying shops to do all of the work + California labor rates/shop rates, but still, is that a $150k+ engine or what?

Here is the build thread. Not sure if the cost is in there but its a good read - https://rennlist.com/forums/993-foru...t-porsche.html

It’s now clear to me that there is no ceiling on the Widebodies.

I've driven the car and can say it's worth every dollar and more...and it cost more! Congrats to the new owner.

Hard to put a real price tag on worth.

My 993 basically cost a third of my 992TTS. Even then, I wouldn’t say the 992 is necessarily the more enjoyable car to drive. And I really like the 992, but it’s different. It can’t feel the same.

A sorted 993 that’s driving well and has its suspension dialed in is a thing of beauty. I can only imagine a well built 4.0 would take it that much higher.

A project 993 is not your typical investment purchase, no matter how well done. I have to imagine the buyer intends to drive this car. I can see the argument for it in that case. Is there another car at $300k that is more enjoyable to drive? Probably not.

Well there you go- I guess a non-stock mid mileage with all the bells and whistles wins!!

This one will be interesting...Jumped to $120k with 5 days left...but there are questions as to factory original aero, and a random side marker...

Neither of these items would bother me if I wanted a C4S. Interior in great condition, hard back sports seats, hollow twists, low mileage.

Wow. I am arguing with insurance company right now on the agreed valuation of my vehicle which is in a similar vein to this build. They are saying $120k, I want to insure for $200k. I think I may use this a guide and see what they say.

If anyone has a view feel free to chime in.

Depends on your carrier. I'm using PURE and they didn't really put up much of a fuss when I upped my agreed value from $90 to $140k. I sent my broker a link to a BaT auction.

The 964 narrow bodys are dragging the floor up for everything. Couple sold on BAT recently in the 120s. WB 993 should never trade below these IMO.
